Zack Cozart ripped a single to left that plated the tying and go-ahead runs in the ninth inning as his club beat the Indians 4-3 on Wednesday.
He came up with two outs in the top of the ninth inning. Arismendy Alcantara was on third and Billy Hamilton was on first. Cozart drilled a line drive that bounced right in front of left-fielder Michael Brantley, who blocked the ball in front of him on a dive. Alcantara scored easily from third while Billy Hamilton blazed around from first base on a ball that no other player in baseball could have scored on. Cozart went 1-for-4 with a walk in the game. He is having an excellent season, sporting a .340/.420/.563 triple slash with four homers, 26 runs and 23 RBI in 39 games. He has missed a few games here and there with a nagging wrist injury that doesn't seem to have affected his hitting.
