Brian Costello of the New York Post doesn't think it's a "sure thing" that Josh McCown will start Week 1.
It's the second time in three days that a Jets reporter has expressed skepticism in McCown after ESPN's Rich Cimini said Friday that the perceived gap between McCown and Christian Hackenberg "isn't as wide as we thought." Given the reports of Hackenberg routinely hitting unsuspecting reporters with errant passes at OTAs, you have to wonder just how badly McCown must be playing for Hackenberg to be gaining ground on him. The same goes for Bryce Petty, who has sunk to third on the team's QB depth chart. In addition to having the league's worst quarterback situation, the Jets may also have the league's thinnest receiving corps. This is shaping up to be a train wreck year in East Rutherford.
