Neil is "not stressed at all" by the fact that he hasn't signed with a new team four weeks into free agency, Postmedia reports.

Chris Neil has garnered some interest as an unrestricted free agent, but he's waiting for a deal that is the most suitable for him and his family. "Everything is pretty quiet right now," Neil said. "Obviously, I've had some offers from teams. Looking at it, it wasn't the right fit at the time. There's some stuff in the air, and we're still going through it. It's not just me I'm thinking about. It's my wife and my kids. It's got to be the right kind of fit, like Ottawa has been through my whole career." He is confident that he will play in his 16th NHL season in 2017-18 and he is looking for a one-year, one-way contract.

According to TSN's Darren Dreger, Chris Neil will play in the NHL next season. The Senators have already said that they have no interest in bringing him back, but Dreger reports that there are a number of teams that are interested in his services. Neil had just one goal and four points in 53 games this season, but he can provide hits and PIMs to your fantasy squad if he can play regularly. The 38-year-old is on his last legs in the NHL.

According to veteran forward Chris Neil, Senators head coach Guy Boucher was the one that didn't want to re-sign him. "I have a lot of respect for (assistant GM) Randy (Lee) and (GM) Pierre (Dorion) … I think, if it was up to them, I’d be back," said Neil. "But they kind of put it in the coach’s hands and that had a lot to do with it. For whatever reason, Guy never really gave me the chance to show I can play." The veteran doesn't want to retire just yet, but he might have a hard time finding work in a league that values skill and speed. He might be forced to accept a PTO from another team if he wants to be in training camp next year.

Chris Neil is looking to extend his NHL career. Neil only participated in 53 games last season and averaged just 7:34 minutes when he did play. After that it was agreed between Neil and Ottawa that Neil would become an unrestricted free agent this summer rather than re-sign with the squad. He'll celebrate his 38th birthday on Sunday, but Neil isn't ready to hang up his skates. "I feel I’ve got stuff left to do," he said. "I feel I can still play and contribute."

Chris Neil will not be back with the Ottawa Senators next season. Neil and the Senators agreed to part ways after a meeting was held Monday to discuss the winger's future and it was agreed that he wouldn't like the role he would have been given if he stayed with the team. He will become an unrestricted free agent in July 1.

Speaking to the media, Chris Neil has said he is not sure what lies ahead for him. "I came in, cleaned my locker" said Neil "and I don't know what's ahead." His contract expires on July 1st and it's tough to see the Senators bringing back considering how much his game has fallen recently. If this is the end for him, he'll leave as one of the better enforcers to ever play in the NHL. He did add he wants to play again next season but he will need a contract offer from GM Pierre Dorion. It's hard to imagine Neil playing anywhere else than Ottawa, a team he has played 14 seasons for.

Chris Neil will be a healthy scratch in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final against Pittsburgh on Friday night. Neil has only suited up in two games this postseason, and none of them have come in this series. Chris Kelly, Ben Harpur, Colin White, Jyrki Jokipakka and Chris DiDomenico will also watch the game from the press box. Alex Burrows will miss the game because of a lower-body injury.

How about Chris Neil? https://t.co/37AK05CE4s
I'm fine with the Bobby Farnham PTO because it means we won't be signing Glass or Chris Neil.
