Despite a rough two outings in Game 5 on Sunday, Guy Boucher declared Craig Anderson his starter for a do-or-die Game 6 on Tuesday. "Oh my God," Boucher said when asked whether Anderson would start Game 6. "I know you do [have to ask the question], but you should not." Boucher said he is fully confident in Anderson, who turned 36 on Sunday. Anderson was pulled twice in a miserable 7-0 loss to the Penguins, allowing four goals in the first period.

Craig Anderson has been once again pulled from Game 5 Sunday afternoon. Anderson allowed three goals on 13 shots by 16:04 of the first period, which resulted in him being pulled from the game. However, Mike Condon only briefly replaced him before Anderson stepped back in. After Anderson allowed a fourth goal prior to the first intermission, Condon was put in the net for the start of the second period. It's an unusual sequence of events to be sure.

Anderson had made 10 saves on 13 shots before being yanked. Mike Condon stepped in and made a save, but then in an unusual move, Anderson quickly re-entered the game. Anderson then surrendered a fourth goal on the first shot he faced upon his return.

As expected, Craig Anderson will play between the pipes in Game 5 Sunday afternoon. Anderson saw his streak of four straight games where he allowed two or fewer goals come to an end on Friday, but he still made 32 saves in the Senators' 3-2 loss to Pittsburgh. He has a 2.25 GAA and .922 save percentage in 16 playoff games in 2017.

Craig Anderson will almost certainly get the start in Game 5 Sunday afternoon against the Penguins. The game starts at 3:00 pm ET, so make sure Anderson is active early. This is a cruicial game in the series, which is tied at 2-2, and Anderson will have to be at his very best if the Senators are to prevail. The Ottawa goalie may have some additional incentive to do well Sunday afternoon--it is his 36th birthday.
