Jori Lehtera may have been a healthy scratch in three of his team's first five playoff games, but he came through in a big way on Friday night.
The Blues were trailing 2-1 in the third period when Lehtera scored the game-tying goal. Teammate Vladimir Tarasenko eventually scored the winning goal to tie the series at one. "What it came down to basically was that we know what (Lehtera) is capable of and that we believe in him," head coach Mike Yeo said. "We didn’t feel it was quite there to that level. And we were happy to give him a chance to respond. Very happy for him. It shows up on the score sheet, but his competitive level right now is very high." Since being scratched in Games 2, 3 and 4 of the Blues' first-round series against Minnesota, Lehtera has picked up three points in three games.
