Mark Streit has been placed on waivers by the Montreal Canadiens.
The Canadiens signed Streit to a one-year, $700,000 contract over the summer, but it hasn't worked out so far. He's dressed for just two of Montreal's four games. They were reportedly shopping him around, but it looks like they didn't get any offers. Perhaps he'll be claimed and it's still possible that a trade will happen, but unfortunately this could be the end of his NHL career.
