Mikkel Boedker    W  Sharks

Mikkel Boedker's first season with San Jose proved to be a disappointment. The Sharks signed Boedker to a four-year, $16 million contract and that deal is looking very bad at the moment. Boedker went from recording 51 points between Arizona and Colorado in 2015-16 to just 10 goals and 26 points in 81 contests with San Jose this season. To make matters worse, Boedker was a healthy scratch three times in the first round. "He has the things we’re looking for: his career scoring average, his speed, [penalty killing] ability," Sharks GM Doug Wilson said. "Did he meet the expectations that he had for himself [or] that we had for him? No. Can we get that out of him? Pete [DeBoer] believes we can." We'll see if he can bounce back next season. Given his contract, San Jose has little choice but to hope that he does.
