Anthony Davis confirmed that he wants to remain in New Orleans and believes the Pelicans can make a playoff run in 2017-18. Davis acknowledged that he had heard trade rumors about potentially getting shipped to Boston, but has ignored them since getting confirmation that the rumors were unfounded. "I understand it's a business, but if I don't hear anything from [GM Dell Demps] or my agent, I don't pay attention to it," said Davis. He also added that he thinks the Pels have enough talent to make some noise this season. "We definitely believe we have enough pieces on paper to make the playoffs. Not just make it, but actually make a run in the playoffs."

Anthony Davis believes that the Pelicans can "make a run in the playoffs" next season. "[A playoff berth is] what we are expecting," said Davis. "We definitely believe we have enough pieces on paper to make the playoffs, and not just make it, but actually make a run in the playoffs. Everyone is excited and everybody is prepared. It starts in training camp." It'll be interesting to see what Davis and DeMarcus Cousins can do in their first full season together, but Davis is right that on paper, New Orleans looks like they have enough talent to make a solid postseason run.

Anthony Davis said he's very excited about the addition of Rajon Rondo and believes they will work together well. "He and I will do very well in pick-and-rolls, especially the way I dive to the basket, or I can pick-and-pop," Davis said. "He’s great at finding guys at the right times with the ball. Anyone who’s been in pick-and-rolls with him has been very successful. Hopefully we can do the same thing." Davis' ceiling in fantasy isn't as high next to DeMarcus Cousins, as his usage rate dropped from 32.7 to 27.4 when DMC arrived in New Orleans. While he's still a lock to go in the first round, he always comes with a lot of risk because of the durability concerns.

The Pelicans are close to hiring assistant Chris Finch to their coaching staff. It's an interesting move for the Pelicans to add the former Nuggets assistant. Finch is somewhat responsible for Nikola Jokic becoming such an amazing offensive weapon and he's also part of the reason the Nuggets offense thrived in the second half. To be fair to Jokic, he's been an incredible passer since his first Summer League, so it's not like Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins will transform overnight. Regardless, this is positive news for both the Pelicans bigs.

James Harden, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Davis were named to the All-NBA first team. Not many surprises here with four of the five basically being locks while Rudy Gobert had an outside chance to take the last spot over Davis. Despite going to the locker room more than any player, Davis still managed to play 75 games, averaging 28.0 points, 11.8 boards, 2.1 assists, 2.2 blocks and 1.3 steals.

Anthony Davis (knee) and DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) will not play against the Blazers on Wednesday. That's a wrap for Anthony Davis' big season. Despite going to the locker room more than anyone else, Davis sits at the top for total value in nine-category fantasy leagues with his 75 games played. Next year, it'll be interesting to see how AD fits in with Cousins after AD posted a 27.4 usage rate next to him compared to the 32.7 he had before the break. For tonight, it should be a heavy dose of Alexis Ajinca and Cheick Diallo up front. Dante Cunningham should play a lot, as well.

Anthony Davis (left knee soreness) will not play on Tuesday vs. the Lakers. Even though it's more than likely that the Pelicans are resting him, they are ruling him out pretty early which suggests that he may not play in the regular-season finale on Wednesday vs. the Blazers as well. Dante Cunningham, Alexis Ajinca, Donatas Motiejunas and Cheick Diallo will all see more run, but fantasy owners can probably find a much better option on the wire.
