The Knicks have been informed that Oklahoma City is one of the other teams Carmelo Anthony has included on his list for a possible trade, according to Ian Begley of ESPN.com. For now, it sounds like we have OKC, the Cavs and the Rockets as possible trade partners. The Blazers are reportedly not on the list, but those two teams make a lot of sense as trade partners -- it's up to Melo, of course. With media day coming up on Monday, we could see an Anthony trade this weekend. Of course, we've been expecting a Melo deal since July, so it could still be a while.

Carmelo Anthony has told the Knicks an expanded list of teams with which he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com. Woj adds that Cleveland is on that list of teams, and he reports the Knicks are insisting they can't make a trade with the Rockets -- that's Melo's primary trade destination. Sam Amick of USA Today, one of the best reporters in the business, adds the Knicks haven't been told the Blazers are on the list of teams. Anthony is expected to report to media day on Monday, but the Knicks may want to avoid that situation and do all they can to get a deal done before that.

Knicks president Steve Mills said that he expects Carmelo Anthony to be with the team on Monday for Media Day and Tuesday for the start of training camp. Both Melo and the Knicks organization would prefer to part ways, but Anthony has a no-trade clause and the team is not willing to take back an unfavorable contract in any deal. Thus, it appears that Melo will start the season in New York. The persistent rumors may calm down a bit now that training camp is upon us. Anthony averaged 22.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.0 3-pointers last season. Expect him to post similar numbers for the Knicks in 2017-18.

Carmelo Anthony's camp is reportedly "cautiously optimistic" that the Knicks and Rockets will be able to come to terms on a deal by Monday. New York will open up media day on Monday and Anthony is hoping that he'll no longer be sporting a Knicks' jersey when that happens, but to this point, it seems that New York and Houston have not made much progress on trade talks. The Rockets are reportedly unwilling to include Trevor Ariza in any deal for Melo, and the Knicks are uninterested in taking on Ryan Anderson's contract, so it looks like New York will need to find a third team to help facilitate this trade, a proposition that is easier said than done.

Damian Lillard said he doesn't see Carmelo Anthony joining the Blazers via trade despite his recruiting efforts. "I’m not giving up on anything," Lillard said. "I just think I’ve done what I can do. And camp is a few weeks away. And you have to focus on getting ready with who we are, plan on going in as we are. Whatever changes, the front office will be the ones making that change, with the Knicks and our front office or whatever." With training camp just a few weeks away, Melo is still only willing to waive his no-trade clause to join the Rockets. For now, expect Melo to open the season as a Knick.

ESPN's Ian Begley is reporting that as of last week, the Knicks were "not close" on any trade involving Carmelo Anthony. The Knicks and Rockets have been in contact since early in the offseason, but there has been "no recent momentum toward a deal," as the Knicks aren't interested in what Houston is offering. Interestingly, this latest ESPN report states that Bucks emerged as a potential third team at one point, and Jabari Parker's name was discussed, "but there was no traction toward a deal." As of now, it appears quite possible that Anthony will begin the 2017-18 season in New York.

Carmelo Anthony has been working out with Lance Thomas, rookie Frank Ntilikina and several other Knicks. "We were just focusing on playing and whatever will happen, will happen," Ntilikina said of Melo's uncertain future. "We'll see." Both the Knicks and Melo are ready to move in a different direction, but New York's hands are tied because Carmelo will only waive his no-trade clause to join the Rockets. However, that hasn't stopped teams like the Cavaliers, Blazers and Pelicans from inquiring about him. Carmelo is shaping up to be a risky pick in the early-middle rounds.

President Steve Mills wrote a blog about the Knicks' future and didn't mention Carmelo Anthony. "Our plan to become more youthful and athletic is underway with 22-year-old Kristaps Porzingis, the return of Tim Hardaway Jr., 25, Willy Hernangomez, 23, and with the debut of our first round draft pick, Frank Ntilikina, just 19," Mills said. It's also worth a mention the Knicks social media team hasn't used Melo in most of their recent graphics. In other words, it feels like it's just a matter of time before Melo is gone. The Knicks are still hoping Melo is willing to go to other teams outside of the Rockets.

Marc Berman of The New York Post said Carmelo Anthony could take another look at the Cavaliers following their big trade with Boston this week. The Cavaliers acquired Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder and Brooklyn's 2018 1st-round pick, so they now have a lot more assets to work with. By acquiring the Brooklyn pick, that also frees up the Cavaliers to shop their own 2018 first-rounder. While Thomas obviously isn't going anywhere, it's worth noting that the Knicks front office is high on Crowder and he could become the centerpiece of a potential offer for Melo. However, one roadblock is that Crowder can't be traded for 60 days (Oct. 22). The Rockets and Knicks re-engaged on trade talks last week, so Houston is likely still in the driver's seat since that's the only team Melo is willing to waive his no-trade clause for.

The Knicks and Rockets have re-engaged on trade talks involving Carmelo Anthony, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com. Woj adds that the Rockets are still looking for a third team to get a deal done, and that Anthony has been "steadfast" that he only plans to waive his no-trade clause for a deal to Houston. The Rockets are trying to get someone to take Ryan Anderson, but it won't be easy with $60 million left on his deal. Woj also added that the Rockets will remain patient while the Blazers have an interest in acquiring the 10-time All-Star.
