George Hill has reached an agreement on a three-year, $57 million deal with the Sacramento Kings, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.
This was an unexpected move by Sacramento, as the Kings drafted point guard De'Aaron Fox with the fifth overall pick in June. Hill, who was the best available point guard left on the open market, can serve as a mentor to Fox and can help ease the rookie's transition to the NBA. However, the fantasy value of both Hill and Fox take a significant hit now that they will have to split time in the same backcourt. Kings shooting guard Buddy Hield may also see his minutes reduced a bit with Hill in Sacramento.
