Gerald Green News

Gerald Green    G/F  Suns

Gerald Green scored 12 points with three rebounds, one block and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes against the Heat on Wednesday. The Rockets went with a ton of P.J. Tucker and Luc Mbah a Moute, so Green didn't get a chance to shine against one of his former teams. Maybe Eric Gordon (back) misses more time, but most fantasy owners should be targeting trade-deadline beneficiaries on the wire instead.

Gerald Green saw his minutes take a big hit on Tuesday, but still managed to hit 6-of-8 shots and four 3-pointers for 16 points and two rebounds in 18 minutes. He had played at least 30 minutes in three straight games with Eric Gordon out with a back injury, but Gordon was back tonight. It's almost time to send Green packing, as he can't continue to play as well as he did tonight in such limited run. However, he might still have a few drops left in the tank, as Ryan Anderson (ankle) got hurt tonight and Trevor Ariza is out with a hamstring injury.

Gerald Green netted 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting Saturday, to go with four 3-pointers, three rebounds, one steal, three blocks and one turnover in 30 minutes off the bench. Green amassed all three of his swats through the first quarter of action, and he made the most of his extended minutes with both Eric Gordon (back) and Trevor Ariza (hamstring) unavailable. However, Gordon is expected to get back to the court on Tuesday in Brooklyn, so Green will likely see his minutes reduced to the lower-20s. He's someone to consider streaming when the Rockets are less than 100%, but he's not worth owning in most leagues when they're backcourt is fully intact.

Gerald Green scored 15 points with five rebounds, one steal and three 3-pointers in 30 minutes against the Spurs on Thursday. He basically stepped right into Eric Gordon's role with similar usage and plenty of treys with Green's 11 attempts tonight. He'll probably have a couple more chances to produce with Gordon having chronic back problems and Trevor Ariza expected to miss more time, too. He doesn't have much long-term upside, so you may not want to add him because of so many adds right now.

Green collected 15 points (4-13 FG, 3-11 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds and one steal in 31 minutes during Thursday's 102-91 victory over the Spurs. Once again, Green saw some extra minutes with Trevor Ariza (hamstring) and Eric Gordon (back) on the sidelines. Green has basically become a -gun-for-hire whenever the Rockets are down on troops. While he will put up some nice scoring nights, he fails to contribute in other categories. He could have some short-term value but still remains more of a three-point streaming option.

Green registered 11 points (4-11 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, and one block in 32 minutes during Tuesday's 114-107 win against the Magic. Green saw extended minutes with Trevor Ariza (hamstring) and Chris Paul (groin) sidelined and Eric Gordon leaving the contest due to back stiffness. Green had not earned 20-plus minutes since the Jan. 15 loss to the Clippers, after which he was suspended for two games. From there, Green was a healthy scratch in two of the four games that followed, receiving four and 18 minutes respectively in the other two tilts against the Mavericks and Suns. Prior to the suspension, Green was averaging 26.7 minutes per night through his first 10 games with the Rockets. Now with Ariza set to miss a couple weeks and Paul and Gordon both likely to be listed as questionable in advance of Thursday's game versus the Spurs, Green is a good bet to see decent minutes going forward -- at the very least until the team returns to full strength.

Gerald Green returned to the Rockets' rotation on Sunday with eight points on 2-of-6 shooting, two 3-pointers, two rebounds and one steal in 18 minutes. Trevor Ariza exited after one minute tonight due to a left hamstring injury, which is why Green resurfaced in the rotation. He was hit-or-miss in an expanded role when James Harden was injured, and is hard to trust in any format even if Ariza misses games.

Gerald Green was eligible to play on Monday after serving his two-game suspension, but never got off the bench. Green kind of killed it when James Harden was hurt, but with Trevor Ariza, Harden and Eric Gordon all in action, he may have trouble finding minutes going forward. If you want to drop him for a hot free agent (Kelly Oubre?), feel free to do so. Oubre's not doing much tonight for the Wizards, but has been hot and Otto Porter left with an injury on Monday.

Gerald Green has served his 2-game suspension and will be available for Monday's game vs. the Heat. Now that James Harden is healthy, Green is going to have a limited role off the Houston bench. His window for reliable fantasy value has likely closed, but he could still be a 3-point specialist for deep-league owners.

Gerald Green will be suspended for two games as a result of Monday's locker room incident. Both Green and Trevor Ariza will be hit with a two-game suspension, whereas Chris Paul and James Harden are in the clear. Green had been ballin' since joining the Rockets with Harden on the sidelines, but his days of relevancy in fantasy hoops could be numbered with Harden expected to make it back to the court on Thursday. Green isn't necessarily worth hanging onto through the suspension.
