Greg Monroe was productive in just 17 minutes off the bench vs. the Mavericks on Monday, scoring 12 points with seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. Thon Maker (ankle) sat this one out, but coach Jason Kidd kept Monroe in the second unit as expected. He finished 6-of-8 from the field and this is a reminder that he only needs about 20 minutes to help standard-league owners. He'll be in the rumor mill quite a bit since his contract expires after the season, but fantasy owners could do a lot worse in the later rounds.

The Bucks are reportedly actively shopping Greg Monroe and John Henson. Both Monroe and Henson's names have floated around in trade rumors for years now, but maybe they'll finally be able to find a taker for Monroe now that he's on the final year of his contract. Henson still has three years left on his deal but at the relatively moderate price of $31.7 million. Both these guys would be better served outside of Milwaukee, and if the Bucks are able to move both of them, that would open up a ton of minutes for Thon Maker.

Greg Monroe said he would like to stay with the Bucks, but added that it's "up to them." It's no secret that the Bucks have shopped him in the past, but unloading his $17.8 million salary for 2017-18 wouldn't be easy. He said he had "no reason to leave" while explaining why he picked up his player option, adding that he wants to help the Bucks take the next step as a team. Coach Jason Kidd seems to prefer Monroe off the bench behind Thon Maker, but expect him to see minutes in the 20s if they finally give up on trading him. He recently turned 27 and posted averages of 11.7 points, 6.6 boards, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals last season on 53.3 percent shooting.

ESPN's Ian Begley is reporting that the Bucks are attempting to trade Greg Monroe. Monroe recently exercised his $17.8 million player option for 2017-18. He came off the bench last season for Milwaukee and saw his playing time reduced as a result. However, his per-possession production was still in line with his career numbers. The Bucks have some depth at center, with starter Thon Maker still on his rookie deal and John Henson and Spencer Hawes under contract. It is unknown what the Bucks are seeking in exchange for Monroe. If he was traded to a team that needed a starter, Monroe's fantasy value would jump.

Greg Monroe will exercise his $17.8 million player option with the Bucks for the 2017-18 season. That means he'll be an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2018, but for next year, he'll remain with Milwaukee serving as a spark plug off the bench. Monroe put in averages of 11.7 points, 6.6 boards, 2.3 dimes and 1.1 steals per game this past season on 53.3 percent shooting, which was good enough for top-100 value in standard 9-cat leagues. He should come off the board towards the later rounds on draft day.

General manager John Hammond said he has not talked to Greg Monroe about his player option. The deadline for Monroe to decide will be on NBA Draft night on June 22. Monroe is 26 years old and his player option is worth $17.9 million, but he may opt to hit the market with the increase coming to the salary cap.
