Harrison Barnes News

Harrison Barnes    F  Mavericks

Harrison Barnes scored 21 points with six rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers in 27 minutes against the Lakers on Saturday. He was back after missing two games and was very efficient, making 6-of-9 from the field and all seven from the line. Barnes had a brutal start to the season from an efficiency standpoint, but he's been fine since November. He's been flirting with top-50 value for a while now and should continue going forward.

Dennis Smith Jr., J.J. Barea, Wes Matthews, Harrison Barnes and Dirk Nowitzki will start against the Lakers. Dwight Powell will be moving back to the bench here, but he should still hold some nice value. Barnes' fantasy value has been hanging in the mid-round range for most of this season and he'll likely stay there. His ankle issue wasn't concerned serious.

Harrison Barnes (ankle) will not play vs. the Warriors on Thursday. Barnes did practice on Wednesday so this is a bit of a letdown for his fantasy owners. Dallas is likely just playing it safe and that should be a trend the rest of the season, as they currently reside in last place in the Western Conference. Barnes' next chance to play comes Saturday vs. the visiting Lakers.

Harrison Barnes (ankle) is being listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Warriors. Barnes was able to practice on Wednesday, which is an encouraging sign regarding his status for Thursday's game against his former team, and owners can expect to get another update following shootaround. If he is able to get back out there, Dwight Powell would likely head back to the second unit and Wesley Matthews won't be quite as involved on offense. Stay tuned.

Barnes (ankle) will not play in Monday's game against the Clippers, Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News reports. Barnes reportedly came down awkwardly on his ankle in Saturday's win over the Kings, but he still managed to play 34 minutes. However, the injury seems to be hindering him enough to hold him out Barnes out for at least one contest, with his chance of returning Thursday at Golden State still up in the air. This is Barnes' first absence of the regular season, and it will likely result in Wesley Matthews playing more small forward than usual and the Mavericks using more size in the frontcourt, which could result in more minutes for Maxi Kleber at power forward.

Harrison Barnes (left ankle) will not play Monday vs. the Clippers. Barnes did not go through shootaround and it's unclear if he'll be available to play on Thursday in Golden State, so this is more than just a minor ankle issue. With him out tonight, there will be more minutes for guys like Maxi Kieber, Dwight Powell and Josh McRoberts and more shots for Dennis Smith Jr., J.J. Barea, Devin Harris and Dirk Nowitzki.

Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle said Barnes is considered questionable for Monday's game against the Clippers with a left ankle injury, Earl K. Sneed of the Mavericks' official site reports. Carlisle relayed that Barnes turned his left ankle awkwardly during Saturday's 106-99 win over the Kings, during which the forward recorded 18 points (7-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal across 34 minutes. Given that Barnes was able to complete the contest, it would seem his injury isn't overly significant, though it's conceivable the Mavericks could err on the side of caution and hold the 25-year-old out Monday for the first time all season if his ankle is still tender. In that scenario, the Mavericks would likely lean on smaller lineups featuring Wesley Matthews at small forward and the likes of Yogi Ferrell, J.J. Barea, Devin Harris and Kyle Collinsworth in enhanced roles at shooting guard.

Harrison Barnes (left ankle) is questionable for Monday's game vs. the Clippers Barnes turned his ankle during Saturday's game vs. the Kings, during which he scored 18 points in 34 minutes. He's been extremely durable throughout his career and hasn't missed a game this season, so we're optimistic, but owners should check for updates after the Mavs' shootaround.

Barnes produced 18 points (7-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt), two rebounds, an assist and a steal in 34 minutes during Saturday's 106-99 win over the Kings. It was a pretty messy game overall for Barnes and the Mavs until they pulled away in the fourth quarter, but Barnes still managed to put together a decent stat-line, albeit a bit below average for the veteran. Barnes is, unfortunately, one of the only Dallas players with a reliable floor of fantasy production night in and night out.
