Isaiah Thomas has been traded to the Cavaliers as a part of a package for Kyrie Irving.
Thomas made it clear that he will be seeking a max deal in 2018, so that along with his hip injury may have factored into Boston's decision. The Cavaliers got quite a haul from the Celtics including Jae Crowder and Brooklyn's 2018 first-round pick which could have tremendous value. As for Thomas, he teams up with the best passer in the league in LeBron James, and while his numbers will likely trend down, his efficiency should rise. If he's a full go for training camp like he's anticipating, Thomas will still be an early-round fantasy pick in Cleveland. In case you missed it, he will have a fresh timetable after he undergoes another scan on his hip in early September.
