Joe Ingles News

The Jazz have officially re-signed Joe Ingles. With the departure of Gordon Hayward, the starting small forward spot in Utah is up for grabs, so it'll be interesting if he can beat out Joe Johnson and Thabo Sefolosha for that spot over the course of training camp. Through 26 games as a starter last season, Ingles put forth averages of 9.3 points, 4.0 boards, 3.4 assists, 2.0 triples and 1.6 steals per game on 46.6 percent shooting, so he could be worth a late-round pick on draft day if he does indeed secure the starting small forward position.

Joe Ingles is finalizing a four-year, $52 million deal to return to the Utah Jazz, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com. And just like that the Jazz get one of their top two priorities. It's also worth a mention that Ingles is close to Gordon Hayward, so this news and bringing on Ricky Rubio has to look very appealing to Hayward -- Ingles and Hayward also have the same agent. As for Ingles, he really blossomed as a playmaker while the Jazz battled so many injuries, which may explain why the 29-year-old Aussie got the big bucks. You can probably expect Jingles at the meeting with Hayward on Monday.

The Magic's interest on Joe Ingles "appears to have been wildly overstated," according to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel. While some heavy-hitting reporters have mentioned the Magic as a team after Ingles, we'll side with Robbins here as one of the best beat writers in the league. To add to this, Adrian Wojanrowski of ESPN said Ingles is likely looking at around $10-11 million per season with the Clippers "focused" on bringing him back. The Jazz view Jingles as their No. 2 priority behind Gordon Hayward, so they should still be considered as the favorites and can match any offer.

The Magic's interest in RFA Joe Ingles is "wildly overstated," according to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel. It really doesn't make sense for Orlando to be pursuing a move for Ingles given where the franchise is currently, so we're inclined to side with Robbins, who is as plugged in as it gets when it comes to the Magic. Still, Ingles should do quite well for himself on the open market.

The Clippers are "focused" on Joe Ingles as a free agent target, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The report adds the team wants shooting and is also looking at Danilo Gallinari. The Clippers famously cut Ingles at training camp back in 2014, but now Woj adds the team could have to pay him $10-11 million per season. The Jazz are also expected to match most offers on Ingles, and he's quite the fan favorite in Salt Lake City.

Free agent forward Joe Ingles is expected to meet with the Clippers and Jazz this weekend, according to beat writer Tony Jones. Adrian Wojnarowski also reported that Ingles "has yet to start negotiations with any team," and we won't have a clear idea of where he might land until he's met with a few teams. At the moment, Western Conference teams are the only ones that have been connected to Ingles, but that could change overnight.

The Magic are included in a group of teams expected to go after Joe Ingles, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. If the Magic can get him off Utah, they're really going to have to open up their checkbook. Plus, they did add Terrence Ross last year, maybe Mario Hezonja can get going, and they did draft Jonathan Isaac, so adding another wing shouldn't be a pressing need. The Jazz will likely match almost any offer on Jingles.
