Love's broken hand won't require surgery, but he's still expected to miss eight weeks while recovering, Joe Gabriele of Cavs.com reports. After consulting with doctors in New York on Thursday, Love made the decision not to have surgery on the broken left hand he suffered just two days earlier in a game against the Pistons. During his prolonged absence, Tristan Thompson, Channing Frye and Jeff Green will likely absorb the extra playing time. Given this timeline, Love still has a chance to return with a couple weeks left in the regular season.

The Cavs announced on Friday that Kevin Love (hand) will not have surgery, but is still expected to miss up to eight weeks. The Cavs said Love would undergo "a non-surgical treatment and rehabilitation process to repair the injury," following his consultation with team doctors. If he misses the full two months, Love will not return until there were just two weeks left in the regular season.

Love (hand) traveled to New York on Thursday to consult with doctors about possible surgery, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports. Whether or not he opts for surgery to stabilize his fractured left hand, Love is projected to require 6-to-8 weeks of recovery time. Given that he previously required screws inserted into his hand in 2009 to address a fracture, Love could be inclined to undergo another procedure with the hope of avoiding another setback down the road. While Love missed his first game due to the injury in Wednesday's 91-89 win over the Heat, Jae Crowder moved back into the starting five at power forward and played 27 minutes, producing 11 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Kevin Love (hand) is in New York to consult with doctors about possible surgery. We're expected to get another update on Thursday evening, but it sounds like he might need screws to stabilize the fracture in his left hand. He's still looking at a 6-8 week timetable, so his owners still have a chance of getting him back before the end of the fantasy playoffs.

Love will not return to Tuesday's game against the Pistons after fracturing a finger on his left hand, and is expect to miss 6-8 weeks according to ESPN. Given that timetable, Love will look to return in early March. While he is sidelined, look for Jae Crowder, Jeff Green, and Channing Frye to all benefit in terms of playing time. Expect an update on Love's status once the team provides more information.

X-rays revealed that Kevin Love suffered a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal in his left hand on Tuesday and will likely be out indefinitely. Adrian Wojnarowski is saying this will be a 6-8 week recovery time for Love, so this is pretty devastating news. As if things weren't going bad enough for the Cavs and Love, they'll now be looking to guys like Jeff Green, Tristan Thompson, Channing Frye and Jae Crowder to step up in Love's absence. And what it really probably means is that the Cavs are going to be very busy this trade season trying to get a piece that will help fix their broken puzzle.

Love exited Tuesday's game against the Pistons with a left hand injury and is currently having an X-ray performed in the locker room, Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com reports. The Cavaliers have yet to provide an update on whether or not Love will return, though that will presumably be released shortly once the medical team gets his X-ray results back. If Love is unable to return, the likes of Jae Crowder, Jeff Green and Channing Frye should cover his minutes.

Kevin Love is getting his left hand looked at in the locker room on Tuesday vs. Detroit. The team trainer followed him back to the locker room and we should have an update soon. He is getting X-rays, but that's all we know at this point. If Love is unable to return, we should see more of Jeff Green, Tristan Thompson and maybe Channing Frye.

Love scored 20 points (8-14 FG, 4-6 3Pt) while adding 11 rebounds and an assist in 27 minutes during Sunday's 121-104 win over the Pistons. It's his third straight double-double and fifth in the last seven games, one of which saw Love limited to only three minutes due to an illness. While the Cavs have struggled at times this season, that hasn't dogged Love, who's on pace for his best shooting percentage since 2010-11 and third straight campaign with at least 2.0 three-pointers per game.

Kevin Love made 8-of-14 shots with four 3-pointers to score 20 points in just 27 minutes during Sunday's 121-104 win vs. Detroit. Love added 11 rebounds and one assist without any turnovers. He has a 26.0% usage rate on the season, but that's fallen to 21.9% over the past month -- it's no coincidence that Isaiah Thomas returned in that span. The Cavs' recent struggles have been covered exhaustively, but Love reportedly doesn't want a trade and should settle into a copacetic groove before long. Even with the Cavs in turmoil the past few weeks, he's still quietly producing top-75 value.
