When asked if the Cavs intended to trade Kyrie Irving, new general manager Koby Altman called the situation "fluid" and that the team has been in touch with Irving's representation.
Owner Dan Gilbert said it wasn't appropriate to discuss the details of the team's meeting with Irving, but he does expect the All-Star guard to be at camp. Gilbert also addressed the narrative of the Cavs having a tough offseason. "This thing is not broken," Gilbert said. When Altman was asked if Kyrie and LeBron James could co-exist, he talked a lot about the past, and said some reports of animosity between them have been "overblown" recently. Basically, the Cavs aren't going to be able to ignore this elephant in the room and the Kyrie trade talk won't be going away any time soon.
