Lonzo Ball News

Lonzo Ball    G  Lakers

Ball (knee) is unlikely to play in Monday's game against the Grizzlies, Mike Trudell of Lakers.com reports. While Ball's knee sprain is being considered minor, the Lakers look to be leaning towards taking a cautious approach with the rookie. With Ball on track to be sidelined, Tyler Ennis could return to the starting lineup in his absence, while Jordan Clarkson and Josh Hart could both be in line to see added minutes off the bench.

Luke Walton said it's very unlikely that Lonzo Ball will play through his left knee sprain on Monday. While he hasn't been ruled out, you shouldn't plan on seeing him in action today, as it sounds like there's almost now way he'll play. Josh Hart is probably the best bet for success in Ball's absence, while it should also help Jordan Clarkson and make Tyler Ennis relevant today. Ball should be considered day-to-day until further notice.

Ball had an MRI on Sunday that revealed a minor left knee sprain and is questionable for Monday's game against the Grizzlies. It doesn't appear that the Lakers are very concerned with the rookie's injury, but they could elect to exercise caution with Ball given that he recently returned from a shoulder injury that kept him out for six games. Expect an update on the point guards health following the team's shootaround, as he'll likely be evaluated closely at that time.

Lonzo Ball's MRI revealed a minor left knee sprain and he's questionable to play vs. the Grizzlies on Monday. Ball woke up with soreness after logging 43 minutes on Saturday, but the MRI was a simple precaution and the test results were encouraging. The Lakers could play it safe, though, so there's a chance Tyler Ennis and Josh Hart will assume more minutes if Ball sits out Monday's game. Gary Payton II, who was just added on a two-way contract, could also crack the rotation.

Lonzo Ball woke up with a sore left knee on Sunday and is scheduled for a precautionary MRI. We'll be awaiting those MRI results, but he's probably just a bit sore after logging 43 minutes on Saturday, so we wouldn't worry much. We should have another update by Monday morning at the latest, but if this does end up being something that forces him to the sidelines, Tyler Ennis would have an opportunity to start and there would be more minutes available for Josh Hart.

Ball is dealing with some discomfort in his left knee and is slated to undergo an MRI on Sunday as a precautionary measure, Mike Trudell of Lakers.com reports. Ball reportedly woke up with some soreness in his left knee and will immediately have tests performed. While the Lakers don't appear to believe it's anything serious, they will still take a cautious approach with their prized rookie and there's a chance he could ultimately miss Monday's matchup with the Grizzlies depending on the results of the MRI. Look for the Lakers to provide another update once those results are in, which is when we should get a better indication on if he's going to miss any time. If Ball does have to sit out, Jordan Clarkson and Tyler Ennis would be the main beneficiaries in the backcourt.

Lonzo Ball scored nine points on 4-of-13 shooting Saturday, to go with seven rebounds, seven assists, one 3-pointer and one steal in 43 minutes. As an added bonus for 9-cat owners Ball didn't commit a single turnover in the overtime win, and while he struggled with his own shot, he still found a way to be effective for the Lakers. Ball has been ballin' over the past eight, flirting with top-30 value behind averages of 14.1 points, 6.8 assists, 2.9 triples, 0.8 steals, 2.5 turnovers and a team-high 7.9 rebounds per contest on 43.3% shooting.

Lonzo Ball hit 7-of-11 shots and 4-of-7 3-pointers for 18 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, four steals and five turnovers in Thursday's 93-81 win over the Spurs. Ball hit just 2-of-10 shots on Tuesday, but had 11 rebounds and 11 assists, but has looked good since returning from his shoulder injury four games ago. Since then he's averaging 11.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 2.8 3-pointers on 43 percent shooting. It appears to all be coming together for the Lakers media star.

Ball recorded five points (2-10 FG, 1-7 3 Pt), 11 assists, 11 rebounds, five steals and one blocked shot in 37 minutes during Tuesday's 99-86 win over the Kings. Ball turned the rare rebound/assist double-double in a great effort from the promising rookie, who has been thrust into the limelight as the face of the franchise despite some definite growing pains during his adjustment to the pros. While he's been efficient since his return from injury, Luke Walton makes some intriguing moves with his lineups. Ball has often disappeared in the fourth quarter, which leaves Ball's ability to close out games somewhat in question. He still has definite value as the second-best fantasy option for the Lakers.

Lonzo Ball hit just 2-of-10 shots and 1-of-7 3-pointers (including a wide open airball) for five points, but also had 11 rebounds, 11 assists, a block and a career-high five steals in Tuesday's 99-86 win over the Kings. Ball's court vision is as advertised and he's played well since returning from his shoulder injury three games ago, averaging 9.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 2.7 steals and 2.3 3-pointers since then. He's going to struggle to score and his field goal percentage could be a killer, but he's going to rack up boards, assists and steals with some 3-pointers every time out.
