Lou Williams News

Lou Williams poured in 31 points off the bench Wednesday, sinking 11-of-22 FGs and 6-of-8 FTs with eight assists, three rebounds, three 3-pointers and one steal. Sweet Lou's previous career-high vs. the Magic was 24 points, but he soared past that mark as the Clippers' go-to scorer tonight. Austin Rivers (concussion) exited this game early and has already been ruled out for Friday's game, so Williams will be even busier than usual vs. the Wizards. At age 31, in his 13th NBA season, Williams is putting up a career-high 19.6 points per game.

Williams scored 31 points (11-22 FG, 3-6 3PT, 6-8 FT) to go along with three rebounds, eight assists and one steal across 33 minutes in Wednesday's 106-95 win against Orlando. Williams stepped up once again with his second 30-plus point game in his last four games since returning to the bench. In his last seven games, the guard is averaging 23.8 points since Blake Griffin's knee injury. For the season, Williams is averaging 20.0 points while seeing the majority of his playing time coming as a reserve. Even as a bench scorer, Williams is putting up numbers that would make regular starters envious. As a result, he has assumed the role as the undisputed leader of the Clippers' offense.

Williams managed 17 points (6-18 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, five assists and one steal across 36 minutes in Monday's 96-91 win over the Raptors. Williams once again led the Clippers in scoring despite what was a ragged shooting night overall. The veteran sharpshooter's scoring total was his lowest since Nov. 20, but he appears primed for a robust role for the time being while Blake Griffin (knee) remains sidelined. Equally encouraging is the fact that Williams' minutes are locked in, as he's seen no less than 33 in the last nine games.

Lou Williams scored 35 points during a 113-112 win over the Wizards on Saturday, adding two rebounds, eight assists and four 3-pointers. He hit a 29-foot triple with one second left to help the Clippers snap their four-game losing streak. Williams has been an absolute workhorse with minutes in the upper 30s in seven of his last eight with the exception being 33 in a blowout loss. With Milos Teodosic (foot) set to come back, Williams probably will be closer to 32 minutes per game, but obviously you're starting him in all formats. He's been a fantasy steal this year and Milos coming back shouldn't hurt him too much.

Williams scored 35 points (11-20 FG, 4-8 3PT, 9-10 FT) to go with two rebounds and eight assists across 37 minutes in Saturday's 113-112 win against Washington. Despite returning to the bench, Williams proved that he is the most consistent scorer in the Clippers' offense by scoring a team-high 35 points on Saturday. Without Blake Griffin for at least the next two months, someone needed to fill the void. Williams has more than picked up the slack, averaging 23.8 points in the five games since Griffin's injury. Whether from the bench or in the occasional start, Williams is the go-to option for the Clippers' offense moving forward.

Lou Williams scored 23 points with three rebounds, eight assists, one steal and four 3-pointers in 37 minutes off the bench against the Wolves on Wednesday. With Danilo Gallinari returning, the Clippers are finally starting to get some guys back, and Williams is probably going to stick in the second unit once Milos Teodosic (foot) comes back. While Williams may not hit upper 30s in minutes, he should still be very busy at around 30 minutes per game as one of the highest usage-rate guys off the bench in the NBA. His owners should still expect him to flirt with top-50 value in standard leagues.

Williams tallied 23 points (8-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 assists and five rebounds in 35 minutes during Sunday's 112-106 loss to the Timberwolves. Williams came off the bench, but was still able to lead the team in minutes played. C.J. Williams received the start, but did nothing with it. Williams is a nice fit off the bench, as he provides instant offense, something the Clippers are now greatly lacking. It is hard to predict which five players coach Doc River will roll out for the next game, but Williams should receive ample playing time no matter what. He should be owned in all leagues and has a great rest of season outlook.

Lou Williams notched his first double-double of the season on Sunday with 23 points, 10 assists, five rebounds and three 3-pointers in 35 minutes. Sweet Lou shifted to the bench tonight, but he led the Clippers in scoring and continues to play huge minutes -- he's logged at least 33 minutes in six straight games. L.A.'s injury woes have turned him into a go-to player, and he's sitting pretty with top-40 value over the past two weeks.

Williams will come off the bench in Sunday's game against the Timberwolves, Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. While Williams is certainly comfortable coming off the bench as a Sixth Man of the Year award winner, the move is still a surprising one given how productive he's been as a member of the starting lineup this season. C.J. Williams will get the start at shooting guard, but Lou should still see a fairly heavy dose of minutes given he's one of the main sources of offensive production for this struggling Clippers team.

Lou Williams will reportedly come off L.A.'s bench on Sunday. Williams should be plenty busy vs. the Rockets even in a sixth-man role, so there's no cause for alarm. The Clippers will be rolling out a lineup of Austin Rivers, , C.J. Williams, Wes Johnson, Jamil Wilson and DeAndre Jordan.
