Paul George News

Paul George    G/F  Thunder

Paul George went 10-of-19 from the field and 3-of-4 from the line during Sunday's loss to the Lakers, on his way to 26 points in 40 minutes. PG-13 also added three triples, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and four turnovers, and he was just one of four players for OKC to connect on at least 50% of his shot attempts. Terrance Ferguson started again, but remained invisible, finishing with just one steal and one turnover across 11 scoreless minutes.

George totaled 15 points (4-16 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals in 38 minutes during Friday's 114-100 loss to the Pelicans. After exploding for 43 points in his previous outing, George struggled from the field in this one. He went just 4-of-16 from the floor while failing to have much of an impact on the game. He has scored at least 20 points in six of his previous seven games and has a chance to pick right back up when the Lakers come visiting Sunday.

George tallied 43 points (19-26 FG 5-8 3Pt), five rebounds, five assists and two steals in 36 minutes during Thursday's 127-124 loss to the Nuggets. George was out of his mind Thursday, as he simply took over the game, a difficult task when you run alongside Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony. If this trio can be this unselfish and give the hot hand the ball when their number comes up, narrow losses like Thursday's could become a lot less frequent. It's tricky to predict which stud will emerge with the monster stat line, and conventional wisdom dictates that the odds always favor Westbrook, but George has proven that you can profit from betting on his number in the Thunder's roulette game of production.

Paul George's season-high 43 points were not enough during 127-124 loss to the Nuggets on Thursday, adding five rebounds, five assists, two steals and five 3-pointers in 36 minutes. It looked like George was going to have the shot of the night with a 3-pointer to tie it at 124, but Gary Harris had other ideas at the buzzer. He also didn't go to the line in this game to make him the first player to score more than 40 without an FT attempt since Wally Szczerbiak in 2003. He's trending up and he could be very busy if Russell Westbrook can't play Friday.

Paul George hit 8-of-14 shots, four 3-pointers and 8-of-10 free throws on his way to 28 points, six rebounds and nothing else in a 102-96 loss to the Wizards. Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony hit a combined 12-of-39 shots, so George's efficiency, along with that of Steven Adams, who hit 6-of-11 shots for 16 points and 12 rebounds, kept the Thunder in the game until the end. Washington pulled away in the final minutes though, and the Thunder will try to regroup in time for Thursday's date with the Nuggets.

Paul George lit up the Sixers for 31 points on Sunday, making 9-of-17 field goals and 9-of-11 free throws with four rebounds, four assists and four steals. George has scored 10+ first-quarter points in four of OKC's previous five games. PG-13 is playing aggressively alongside Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony, and his defensive ability is a buffer for off-shooting nights -- he's averaging 0.6 blocks and a league-high 2.2 steals per game.

George contributed 31 points (9-17 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 9-11 FT), four rebounds, four assists and four steals across 38 minutes in Sunday's 122-112 victory over the 76ers. George was recently named to the All-Star roster after DeMarcus Cousins was injured, but he didn't let his foot off the gas as he now has averaged 28 points over his last five games. George has found confidence in his role with the Thunder, which is turning into solid production that fans are used to seeing from him.

Paul George was named to the All-Star Team as DeMarcus Cousins' replacement. Maybe commissioner Adam Silver saw the first quarter today before making the move because PG-13 tore it up with 16 points in 12 minutes, finishing with 26 points, three rebounds, two assists, three steals and four 3-pointers against the Pistons. George has really broken out as a scorer lately and he's been to the line 35 times over his last four games. George will be joining LeBron James' team in Los Angeles later this month. Of course, Lakers fans will probably hope that statement is true this summer.

George scored 26 points (6-13 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 10-12 FT) while adding three rebounds, three steals and two assists across 36 minutes in Saturday's 121-108 victory over the Pistons. Since being snubbed from the All-Star Game, George has averaged 27 points per game and over five rebounds per game in four contests. In his past two games alone, he has stepped up his defense, tallying seven steals in those games combined. George will look to continue the ramped up efforts to help the Thunder push for a higher seed in the Western Conference.
