Paul George News

The Blazers' recent offer for Paul George "doesn't move the needle" for the Pacers, according to Jason Quick of CSNNW. This isn't too surprising because the Pacers are looking for a high pick. While the Blazers do have three first-round picks, their earliest pick is only at 15. If you exclude C.J. McCollum and Damian Lillard, there just isn't enough to entice the Pacers to match some of the other offers from the teams with lottery picks.

The Wolves continue to show interest in landing Paul George or Jimmy Butler, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical. While the world shifts its focus to Kristaps Porzingis, don't forget about these two All-Star wings. The Wolves seem like they're very willing to deal their No. 7 pick for a wing of some kind. George is by far the most likely All-Star to be traded and there is a picture floating around on the web of a moving van in front of his house.

ESPN's Marc Stein said that the Cavaliers remain "seriously interested" in Paul George and Jimmy Butler. Butler is hoping to stay in Chicago and George told the Pacers he's leaving as a free agent next summer, so George is likely more attainable. The Cavaliers probably don't have the assets to make a George deal work, so a third team would have to be involved. Meanwhile, the Lakers have reportedly offered the 27th and 28th overall picks and Indiana's choice of either Julius Randle or Jordan Clarkson, so it sounds like a George trade could go down this week.

The Lakers and Pacers have reportedly engaged in preliminary talks regarding a Paul George deal. Reports around the league indicate that the Lakers are unwilling to part ways with the No. 2 pick in the 2017 NBA draft for PG-13, but they are reportedly willing to offer a package that would include the likes of Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle and the No. 28 pick. The Lakers will likely be coming in with low-ball offers given that George has made it known that his desire would be to sign with Los Angeles as an unrestricted free agent in 2018, but there is reportedly some fear amongst the Laker execs that his attitude towards Los Angeles could shift if he's traded to a winning team this summer.

The Wizards will reportedly try and put together a package to trade for Paul George. It's tough to see this sort of deal coming to fruition, as Washington has zero interest in trading away Bradley Beal or John Wall. That pretty much leaves Otto Porter as their most attractive trade chip, but given that he's a restricted free agent, Porter would need to consent to a sign-and-trade which would result in him leaving millions of dollars on the table. At the moment, Cleveland and Boston seem like the only realistic potential landing spots for PG-13.

The Pacers are reportedly angling for two first-round picks and a starting-caliber player in any trade talks for Paul George. In case you missed it, George recently informed the Pacers that he intends to leave as an unrestricted free agent next summer. That may have forced their hand, and ESPN's Zach Lowe reports that the "sense from teams talking to [Indiana]" is that they "intend to move fast" on a deal for the star forward. George would reportedly prefer to play in L.A., but he also wants to compete for a championship, and the Cavaliers have been cited as a potential trade partner. It's a fascinating story to monitor in the lead-up to draft night.

George informed the Pacers organization that he plans to leave the team and become a free agent in the summer of 2018, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Paul George has reportedly informed the Pacers that he intends to leave the franchise as an unrestricted free agent in 2018. George also let the Pacers know that ideally, he'd like to go to the Lakers, and while he hasn't formally requested a trade, Pacers' GM Kevin Pritchard has reportedly already begun engaging with teams around the league on a potential deal; the Cavaliers have already made inquiries. The Lakers might not have the assets to be able to pry away PG-13 from Indiana, and there's less incentive for them to do so if they could get him for nothing as a free agent, but with word out that he won't re-sign with Indiana and he'd like to go to Los Angeles it'll be that much more risky for a team to unload assets now for what could turn out to be just a one-year rental.
