Paul George News

Paul George    G/F  Pacers

The Cavaliers, Pacers and Nuggets have reportedly discussed a three-team deal that would send Paul George to Cleveland, with Kevin Love going to Denver. To be clear, nothing is imminent and there's no mention of what Indiana would get in this scenario -- Denver would likely send them a combination of young players and draft picks. It would be a very interesting move from the Nuggets, who acquired Trey Lyles on draft day but could lose Danilo Gallinari in free agency. Chris Haynes reports that Denver would be willing to give up Kenneth Faried in a potential deal, with Wilson Chandler and Emmanuel Mudiay also "available." Stay tuned.

Talks between the Celtics and Pacers about Paul George have "stalled," according to The Vertical. Celtics writer Gary Washburn previously confirmed talks between the teams, but noted that the " sides are not close." It's unclear what the sticking point is, but Boston has been reluctant in the past to part with any of their first-round picks from the Nets. The deal isn't dead, but this is a far cry from the "serious talks" and "significant momentum" reported an hour ago.

The Pacers and Celtics are "engaged in serious talks" about a Paul George trade, according to Adrian Wojnarowski, but they are "still apart." Here we go. Boston has a heap of young talent and draft picks they can use to lure George away from the Pacers, but keep in mind this isn't a done deal -- it had "gained significant momentum," but may have since cooled off. George isn't expected to promise that he'll re-sign with a new team, given his interest in signing with L.A. next summer, so there's obvious risk involved. Stay tuned, as we should know more very soon.

The Rockets "remain in trade pursuit" of Paul George, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Based on the earlier report of the Blazers not having enough ammo, it'll be really tough for the Rockets to get a deal together for George. Unless the Rockets can pull some strings to get other deals going, this seems like it'll be tough to get done for general manager Daryl Morey.

The Blazers' recent offer for Paul George "doesn't move the needle" for the Pacers, according to Jason Quick of CSNNW. This isn't too surprising because the Pacers are looking for a high pick. While the Blazers do have three first-round picks, their earliest pick is only at 15. If you exclude C.J. McCollum and Damian Lillard, there just isn't enough to entice the Pacers to match some of the other offers from the teams with lottery picks.

The Wolves continue to show interest in landing Paul George or Jimmy Butler, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical. While the world shifts its focus to Kristaps Porzingis, don't forget about these two All-Star wings. The Wolves seem like they're very willing to deal their No. 7 pick for a wing of some kind. George is by far the most likely All-Star to be traded and there is a picture floating around on the web of a moving van in front of his house.

ESPN's Marc Stein said that the Cavaliers remain "seriously interested" in Paul George and Jimmy Butler. Butler is hoping to stay in Chicago and George told the Pacers he's leaving as a free agent next summer, so George is likely more attainable. The Cavaliers probably don't have the assets to make a George deal work, so a third team would have to be involved. Meanwhile, the Lakers have reportedly offered the 27th and 28th overall picks and Indiana's choice of either Julius Randle or Jordan Clarkson, so it sounds like a George trade could go down this week.

The Lakers and Pacers have reportedly engaged in preliminary talks regarding a Paul George deal. Reports around the league indicate that the Lakers are unwilling to part ways with the No. 2 pick in the 2017 NBA draft for PG-13, but they are reportedly willing to offer a package that would include the likes of Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle and the No. 28 pick. The Lakers will likely be coming in with low-ball offers given that George has made it known that his desire would be to sign with Los Angeles as an unrestricted free agent in 2018, but there is reportedly some fear amongst the Laker execs that his attitude towards Los Angeles could shift if he's traded to a winning team this summer.

The Wizards will reportedly try and put together a package to trade for Paul George. It's tough to see this sort of deal coming to fruition, as Washington has zero interest in trading away Bradley Beal or John Wall. That pretty much leaves Otto Porter as their most attractive trade chip, but given that he's a restricted free agent, Porter would need to consent to a sign-and-trade which would result in him leaving millions of dollars on the table. At the moment, Cleveland and Boston seem like the only realistic potential landing spots for PG-13.
