Paul Millsap News

Paul Millsap (wrist) had surgery on Sunday to reconstruct ligaments in his left wrist, and he is expected to miss "the next several months." The Nuggets' official press release specified that Millsap doesn't have a specific timetable, and that his return is "dependent upon consistent assessment throughout the rehab process." Trey Lyles and Kenneth Faried will both gain in his absence, with Juan Hernangomez also in the mix, but there's no clear-cut winner here. Early indications were that Millsap could miss 2-3 months, so whether fantasy owners hold him depends largely on league depth and IR spots.

Millsap underwent surgery on his left wrist Sunday and is expected to be out for three months, Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports. While the Nuggets were still mulling options for the injured All-Star, the expectation was always that Millsap would end up having surgery to repair the torn ligament in his left wrist. The timetables leaves Millsap sidelined likely until late March, and in his absence, Kenneth Faried, who started in Friday's win over the Grizzlies, likely becomes a fixture in the starting five, while both Juan Hernangomez and Trey Lyles see extended frontcourt minutes off the bench.

Coach Mike Malone said the team will "talk to different doctors" to determine the best plan on Paul Millsap (wrist). We still don't know what the team is going to do and this is pretty much a non-update. Millsap was expected to be out 2-3 months for surgery, but the Nuggets may try to rehab him without a procedure. Regardless, Millsap is out for an extended period of time, so his owners will likely have to wait until 2018 until he's back out there. The Nuggets will play the matchups without him, so Kenneth Faried, Juancho Hernangomez, Trey Lyles and Mason Plumlee will have ups and downs.

Nuggets coach Mike Malone said that Paul Millsap (wrist) is going to "get some other opinions before we make a decision as to what the best course of action is." Shams Charania of The Vertical and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN both reported that Millsap will undergo surgery, and the Denver Post is reporting the same as well. Surgery would sideline the All-Star forward for 2-3 months, but until we know for sure, his fantasy owners should sit tight. The Nuggets went with a small-ball lineup with Wilson Chandler at the four on Wednesday while Kenneth Faried was a DNP-CD, but their lineups could change depending on the matchups.

Millsap is still mulling his treatment options for the torn ligament in his wrist and hasn't settled on surgery quite yet, Chris Mannix of Yahoo! Sports reports. It was reported on Tuesday that Millsap was going to undergo surgery and could potentially miss up to three months, though it sounds like nothing is official there and he's now weighing his options. While there's certainly a chance he does eventually undergo surgery, it appears he'll at least consider some sort of alternate treatment, though it's unclear when a final decision will be made or how that changes his timetable for a return. Either way, Millsap will still be out for the foreseeable future, which means Kenneth Faried should start at power forward, while guys like Juancho Hernangomez, Trey Lyles and Will Barton should all also benefit.

Paul Millsap has been diagnosed with a left wrist ligament injury and he's currently mulling over his options to determine the best course of treatment. Both Shams Charania and Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Tuesday that Millsap was set to undergo surgery and expected to miss 2-3 months, but it looks like surgical intervention hasn't officially been decided upon just yet. We'd advise on holding onto him until we have an official timetable and treatment option, but in the meantime, Kenneth Faried should be starting at the four with additional minutes falling to Juan Hernangomez and Trey Lyles. Will Barton, Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic should all see an uptick in usage as well.

Millsap is slated to undergo surgery on his left wrist and will be sidelined indefinitely, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports. Despite an X-ray coming back negative on Monday, Millsap went ahead and scheduled a follow-up meeting with Nuggets doctors Tuesday, where it was decided it's in his best interest to undergo surgery on the wrist. The extent of the surgery is unclear at this point in time and the Nuggets aren't offering any sort of timetable for a return, so Millsap is going to be considered out indefinitely for the time being. A more concrete target date will likely be released following the surgery, but it wouldn't be surprising if he missed at least a month or two of action. Guys like Kenneth Faried, Juan Hernangomez and Trey Lyles should help cover his minutes, with Faried the likely starter moving forward. That said, Wilson Chandler has played some power forward in the past, so the Nuggets could experiment with him at the position as well, which could mean more Will Barton at small forward.

Millsap (wrist) will meet with Nuggets doctors in Denver on Tuesday to "look at" his sprained left wrist, Harrison Wind of BSN Denver reports. The X-rays on Millsap's wrist returned negative, though he and the team seemingly feel it's a good idea to get a better look at things to help determine a recovery strategy and timetable for return. As of right now, it seems highly unlikely he'll suit up for Wednesday's game in Houston, especially considering he flew back to Denver. In Millsap's absence Monday, Kenneth Faried drew the start and played 19 minutes. Off the bench, Juan Hernangomez saw 23 minutes, Trey Lyles saw 19 and Mason Plumlee received 20.
