Rajon Rondo (thumb) said he will not suit up for Wednesday's Game 5 against the Celtics.
Rondo really wants to get out there, but the fact remains that he's dealing with a pretty badly fractured right (shooting) thumb in addition to a torn ligament in his wrist, and according to him: "the slightest fall on the floor might further damage it." Rondo's next opportunity to play will come in Game 6 on Friday, but tonight, it'll be Isaiah Canaan starting at point guard with Jerian Grant and Michael Carter-Williams backing him up. RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant:
Canaan isn’t a great fantasy player but considering how poorly Grant and MCW played, he could push towards 30 minutes again tonight. During the season, he produced 0.71 FD ppm when he shared the court with Butler and Wade, so his $1,800 price tag on FD seems like a great deal. He received 24-31 minutes in ten games this season and he eclipsed 15 FD points in five of them while taking at least nine FGAs and/or five threes in eight.
