Tony Allen News

Allen has been diagnosed with a non-displaced left proximal fibula fracture and is expected to be sidelined for 3-to-4 weeks, Radio Broadcasting Manager/Studio Host for the New Orleans Pelicans, Daniel Sallerson reports. Allen left Sunday's game with what was thought to be a knee injury, which subsequently caused him to miss Monday's contest. Upon further examination, it was revealed that Allen had suffered a fractured fibula, which could keep him out upwards of a month. He hasn't been a huge part of the team's rotation, but his 12.4 minutes per game will have to get distributed elsewhere. E'Twaun Moore, Ian Clark and Darius Miller are all candidates to see a slight uptick in workload.

Tony Allen has been diagnosed with a non-displaced left proximal fibula fracture and is expected to miss the next 3-4 weeks of action. Allen isn't a huge part of the rotation in New Orleans, so there won't be a large impact in fantasy hoops with him out. Darius Miller and Dante Cunningham will likely pick up most of his minutes, but neither of those guys are worth owning in most leagues.

Tony Allen (left knee) will not play on Monday vs. Houston. Allen has been on the fringe of the rotation lately and hasn't been able to stay healthy. Darius Miller has emerged as a reliable 3-point shooter for the Pelicans and is a better fit for their offense, so Allen belongs on the waiver wire.

Tony Allen (left knee) exited Sunday's game in the first quarter and did not return. Knee inflammation has bothered Allen all season, and he headed directly into the locker room after appearing to aggravate the knee tonight. New Orleans won't be taking any risks with their 35-year-old swingman, so we're not expecting to see him on the court Monday.

Allen is doubtful to return to Sunday's game against the 76ers due to a knee injury. The specifics of Allen's knee injury have not yet been reported, but he immediately went to the locker room after going down. Expect an update to come following Sunday's conference and for the Pelicans to have an update on Allen's timetable by Monday morning.

Tony Allen was a DNP-CD on Friday against the Kings. He didn't even get to play against his former Grit and Grind buddy, Zach Randolph. This is slightly interesting with Rajon Rondo (rest) out of the lineup, which opened up some wing minutes today. Allen is going to be 36 next month and he'll have a cap on his minutes regardless of how thin the Pelicans are.

Tony Allen (knee) had seven points, three rebounds and two assists in 16 minutes vs. the Wolves on Wednesday. Allen hit 2-of-6 shots, including a 3-pointer, but this does nothing to improve his fantasy outlook. He's yet to score more than 10 points all season.

Allen was left off of the Pelicans' injury report Tuesday, Will Guillory of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Allen sat Monday's practice out with left knee inflammation that caused him to miss four games earlier this month, however his absence from the injury report means he's likely a go for Wednesday's matchup with the Timberwolves. He's seen over 20 minutes just once this season, and with an average of 13.5 minutes per game, he'll likely continue seeing limited minutes.

Tony Allen (knee) is not on the Pelicans injury report and is expected to play Wednesday vs. Minnesota. Allen missed practice on Monday but appears to be on track to suit up Wednesday night. However, Allen is averaging fewer than 14 minutes a night and has a very limited impact from a fantasy perspective.

Allen (knee) sat out Monday's practice and is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves, Will Guillory of the Times-Picayune reports. Allen has been dealing with some inflammation in his left knee, missing four games throughout November because of it. He's since returned to the lineup, but has averaged just 13.0 minutes over the last four contests, so the Pelicans are obviously being cautious with his workload. In what was also likely a precautionary move, the Pelicans held Allen out of practice Monday, though he'll still have a couple of days off prior to Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves to make some improvement. Consider him questionable for now.
