Zach Randolph News

Zach Randolph    F/C  Kings

Zach Randolph said he has been benefitting from consistent minutes in Sacramento. Randolph was rested sporadically in January, as the Kings decided to give more playing time to their youngsters. However, due to injuries, Z-Bo has been back in the lineup nearly every night. Prior to the final game before the All-Star break, Randolph had started nine straight games and was averaging 15.4 point and 8.0 rebounds in 27.9 minutes over that stretch. "You get a good rhythm," Randolph said. "Especially something that I’m not used to, the team developing our young players. So you get into a good rhythm, it’s important, playing and getting that feel."

Zach Randolph was a DNP-CD on Wednesday against the Rockets. It's the first DNP he's picked up since Jan. 23, so Z-Bo played in each of the last eight games. Some of that is about George Hill being traded, but a bigger part is that Skal Labissiere hasn't been healthy. If Skal comes back OK, Randolph likely has more DNPs coming.

JaKarr Sampson is starting over Zach Randolph against the Rockets on Wednesday. Chances are that Randolph is getting the night off on a back-to-back set after the Kings earned a win. It's been a while since he's been rested and he played in every game since the George Hill deal. Expect more rest days going forward.

Zach Randolph led the Kings to a 114-109 win over the Mavericks on Tuesday, scoring 22 points with seven rebounds, three assists and two triples in 26 minutes. The Kings used to rest two veterans every game, but Z-Bo has now played in nine straight because they are a little shorthanded. He's been pretty productive as well, scoring in double digits in eight of those games and grabbing at least seven rebounds in seven of those. That may change when Skal Labissiere (shoulder) returns to action, but for now Z-Bo's owners can keep throwing him into lineups.

Zach Randolph finished with 14 points across 21 minutes in Saturday's 106-99 loss against the Mavericks. Randolph was 6-of-10 from the field, including 2-of-4 from behind the 3-point line, and he is hitting 56.0 percent (14-of-25) across the past two outings. Foul trouble held him from posting a giant stat line, limiting him to five rebounds, three assists while turning it over five times. He'll look for better results Monday against the Bulls, the first of three games in the new week.

Zach Randolph ended up with 18 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals over 28 minutes in Friday's home loss against the Warriors. Randolph was decent from the field, hitting 8-of-15 while going 1-of-4 from behind the 3-point line. He is averaging 22.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals over the past two outings. Z-Bo might see some additional DNPs down the stretch, as the team leans upon its younger players. However, when he is in there he is still proving he can be a very effective fantasy option.

Randolph posted 18 points (8-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in 28 minutes during Friday's 119-104 loss to the Warriors. Even though the Kings organization made a statement that they'd be giving younger players more opportunities in lieu of veteran players, that hasn't really happened for Randolph. While there have been definite demotions on the team (George Hill is a prime example). Randolph returned from a knee injury a week ago and put up two double-doubles in short order, and he appears to remain a key element in the Kings offense.

Zach Randolph played for the third straight game and racked up 26 points, 12 rebounds, a steal and three 3-pointers in 32 minutes of Tuesday's 114-103 win over the Pelicans. With Willie Cauley-Stein and Skal Labissiere injured, the Kings plan of resting vets all the time may be temporarily thrown out the window. But before you get too excited about tonight's line, keep in mind that Z-Bo hadn't scored more than 12 points in a game since Jan. 11 and has been rested in three of his last eight games. The injuries to fellow Kings' big men may be keeping him afloat right now, but he's still not a very appealing player to pick up right now, with more DNPs likely coming his way soon.

Randolph recorded 26 points (11-23 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 32 minutes during Tuesday's 114-103 win over the Pelicans. Randolph turned back the clocks again, posting his seventh double-double through 43 appearances in 2017-18. All seven have come during his last 24 appearances, as the 36-year-old veteran has surprisingly become steadier as the campaign has rolled along despite the team supposedly focusing on developing the youngsters. Of course the injuries to Willie Cauley-Stein (knee) and Skal Labissiere (ankle) played a part in this one. However, Randolph himself has been reliable when healthy and remains worthy of use in most leagues.

Zach Randolph (knee) started Sunday's game to finish with nine points, seven rebounds, six assists, three steals and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes. This was Z-Bo's highest playing time since Dec. 10, but the Kings were coming off two days' rest and playing without Skal Labissiere (left shoulder strain) and Willie Cauley-Stein (knee, foot). Randolph's line would have been better if he made more than 4-of-15 from the field, but nobody will complain about his across-the-board contributions. With random DNPs a certainty down the stretch, Randolph isn't very appealing in most situations.
