The Bulls announced on Friday morning that Rajon Rondo has a fractured thumb and that he will be sidelined indefinitely.
Per the Bulls press release, "Rondo injured his right hand in Game 2 at Boston on Tuesday night. Rondo underwent a subsequent exam and x-rays that confirmed a thumb fracture. Surgery is not required for this injury, and he is out indefinitely." This is a tough blow for a Bulls team that was riding a major wave of momentum. Rondo had been playing terrifically over the first two games of the series, averaging 11.5 points, 10.0 assists and 8.5 boards. Jerian Grant will likely move into the starting lineup. Michael Carter-Williams will see extended minutes off the Bulls bench as well.
