Jimmy Butler    G/F  Bulls

K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune believes that a Jimmy Butler trade to the Celtics is now off the table. The Celtics refused to offer the Bulls their 2017 first-round pick without protections back in February for Butler, so a trade seems unlikely now that they have the No. 1 pick in the draft. Instead, Johnson believes that the Celtics will keep the pick and pursue a maximum contract player like Gordon Hayward in free agency. The Bulls have made it clear that they value Butler "greatly," so don't expect them to move the two-way wing unless they receive a Godfather offer. As for his fantasy value, Butler's owners should be hoping he remains in Chicago.

Denzel Valentine    G  Bulls

Denzel Valentine underwent a left ankle scope this week according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. This is the same ankle that he sprained twice during the season. Valentine is expected to be sidelined for 3-4 weeks, but Johnson adds that the guard should be ready for the summer league. Valentine had a decent finish to his rookie season and averaged 7.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.5 steals and 1.9 triples in 23.0 minutes per game after the All-Star break, so his development during the offseason will be something to watch closely. He should be ready for a larger role next season, especially if Dwyane Wade opts out of the final year of his deal.

Fred Hoiberg    G  Bulls

John Paxson confirmed during Wednesday's presser that Fred Hoiberg will remain Chicago's head coach next season. It was a bumpy ride for Hoiberg during his 2016-17 campaign, but he still managed to get the Bulls into the playoffs, and they looked like a team poised to advance to the second-round prior to Rajon Rondo's injury. Poor roster construction was the primary culprit to Chicago's up-and-down season and not the coaching decisions that were made by Hoiberg.

Nikola Mirotic    F  Bulls

Bulls' GM Gar Forman said that he values Nikola Mirotic and would like to bring him back as a restricted free agent this offseason. "We value Niko. When Niko was on the floor with certain lineups, we were more effective. Niko made it clear he wants to be in Chicago," said Forman. "We hope to bring Niko back, and we hope to have him here all summer working. We hope that he can play more consistently." Hoping Mirotic can be more consistent sounds like wishful thinking after yet another inconsistent year in Chicago. He's somewhat past the developmental stage of his career at 26 years old, so he won't be worth much more than a late-round pick on draft day.

Rajon Rondo    G  Bulls

VP of Basketball Operations John Paxson said that "there's a really good chance" Rajon Rondo will be on the Bulls' roster for the 2017-18 season. The Bulls will have until June 30 to buyout Rondo for $3 million, but for now, it looks as though they're committed to keeping him on the roster. It was an up-and-down season for Rondo, but he was a top-50 guy after the break when he put in averages of 10.3 points, 5.2 boards, 7.1 dimes, 1.8 steals, 1.1 triples and 2.4 turnovers per contest. It also helps that both Fred Hoiberg and Jimmy Butler had high praise for Rondo at the season's end. His outlook will improve if Dwyane Wade opts to leave as a free agent.

Denzel Valentine    G  Bulls

Denzel Valentine said the front office thinks he can be a major rotational piece next season. Valentine got some burn after the All-Star break and averaged 7.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.5 steals and 1.9 triples in 23.0 minutes per game in that span, but he basically had to fight for scraps behind Dwyane Wade and Jimmy Butler and eventually fell out of the rotation in the playoffs. Wade has a player option for 2017-18 and Nikola Mirotic could leave in free agency, so there certainly is a path to more minutes for Valentine. He confirmed that he will play in the summer league and it's a safe bet that he will run most of the offense.

Paul Zipser    F  Bulls

Paul Zipser said he will likely play in the summer league. As for the German national team, Zipser isn't sure if he will play in Eurobasket this summer. The rookie played pretty well for the Bulls this season and helped them space the floor a bit, and with Dwayne Wade and Nikola Mirotic hitting free agency, maybe Zipser can keep his spot in the rotation. To be clear, it's hard to imagine him helping most fantasy owners any time soon. He finished the 2016-17 season with averages of 5.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.8 triples in 19.2 minutes per game.

Denzel Valentine    G  Bulls

Denzel Valentine will play in Summer League. The Bulls may have just lost four games in a row during the 2016-17 playoffs, but you can't take away their 2016 Las Vegas Summer League championship. Valentine was expected to be a pro-ready guard and he was behind an injury-prone Dwyane Wade, but Valentine's rookie season was a mild letdown. We saw another NBA-ready Michigan State guard, Gary Harris, bust out in his second Summer League to set up two terrific seasons, so maybe Valentine can follow in his footsteps.

Bobby Portis    F  Bulls

Bobby Portis played through a third-degree foot burn for the last two months. He said he burned his foot on a heat pack back on Mar. 4. This isn't "Rajon Rondo fell in the shower" strange, but it's still an odd injury. "The heat pack burned me before the game," Portis said. "I was actually on the [trainer's] table. I couldn't feel it. I had my headphones in, but I didn't feel [the pack] burn through. ... Ever since then, it's been hurting." Portis said he didn't reveal the injury because he didn't want to lose his minutes, so maybe that explains the inconsistent play -- probably not. He'll have added opportunity next year, especially if the Bulls don't bring back Nikola Mirotic. Portis is not planning to play in Summer League to defend his title.
