Celtics News

Gerald Green    G  Celtics

Green is expected to remain in the starting lineup for Sunday's Game 4 against Chicago, Jay King of MassLive.com reports.

Gerald Green    G  Celtics

Green produced eight points (3-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt) and one rebound from 20 minutes in Friday's 104-87 Game 3 win in Chicago.

Apr 21 - 10:59 PM

Avery Bradley    G  Celtics

Avery Bradley was a factor on both ends of the floor during a 104-87 win over the Bulls on Friday, scoring 15 points with seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals and four 3-pointers. It's been a while since we saw peak Avery Bradley, but he showed up today. Bradley's defense on Jimmy Butler may have been his biggest contribution in this game, and his play-making skills were also on display. Before his Achilles injury, Bradley showed off his polished ball-handling skills, but they've subsided in the past few months. If he starts playing like he did in the 2016 portion of the season, the Celtics could be dangerous again. The Celtics will look to tie the series in Game 4 on Sunday.

Apr 21 - 10:17 PM

Isaiah Thomas    G  Celtics

Isaiah Thomas scored 16 points with two rebounds, nine assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Bulls during a Game 3 win on Friday. The Bulls were able to keep IT in check for the first half with just six points, but Thomas busted out in the third with eight points, four assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in those eight minutes. He rejoined his team on Thursday night after a trip to Washington to be with his family, so he still isn't quite in his routine. Regardless of how he plays, IT gets a ton of credit for playing through such a family tragedy. We may see IT time on Sunday.

Apr 21 - 10:12 PM

Jonas Jerebko    F  Celtics

Jonas Jerebko scored six points with three rebounds in 10 minutes off the bench against the Bulls on Friday. Coach Brad Stevens loves his Jerebko and Olynyk combo, so maybe that's why he didn't start Jerebko today. The JJ-KO combo was used for seven minutes in this win, so that will likely be a second-unit staple going forward. It'll be tough to use Jerebko in Game 4.

Apr 21 - 10:04 PM

Al Horford    F/C  Celtics

Al Horford scored 18 points with eight rebounds, six assists, four steals, one block and two 3-pointers in 33 minutes against the Bulls during a Game 3 win on Friday. It was easily his best game of this series. The Celtics going smaller more often opened up more pick-and-roll opportunities for Horford and more space for cutting, so coach Brad Stevens will likely continue to throw Horford out there with four smalls. After two disappointing games, Horford may start to show why the Celtics paid up to get him last summer.

Apr 21 - 10:00 PM

Gerald Green    G/F  Celtics

Gerald Green played 20 minutes in the starting lineup against the Bulls in Game 3 on Friday, scoring eight points with one rebound and two 3-pointers. He did suffer a mild left ankle tweak in the first half, but he did return and looked fine after getting re-taped. Even if Green is going to start, he's going to be the fourth guard at best in the rotation for total minutes behind Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart -- Terry Rozier played 23 minutes, as well. Green is only going to be a tournament play in DFS because we've seen him get hot at times.

Apr 21 - 9:57 PM

Kelly Olynyk    C  Celtics

Kelly Olynyk scored five points with one rebound, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 14 minutes against the Bulls on Friday. His minutes took a sizable hit after he played 23.5 minutes per game in the first two games of this series. Olynyk was the 10th player to check in for the Celtics, so coach Brad Stevens made plenty of tweaks to his rotation. His role is a little unclear for Game 4.

Apr 21 - 9:49 PM

Avery Bradley    G  Celtics

Bradley put up 15 points (5-10 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals across 36 minutes in Friday's 104-87 victory over the Bulls in Game 3.

Apr 21 - 9:47 PM

Al Horford    C  Celtics

Horford scored 18 points (8-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt) while adding eight rebounds, six assists, four steals and one block across 33 minutes in Friday's 104-87 victory over the Bulls in Game 3.
