Chris Paul    G  Clippers

Zach Lowe of ESPN stated during a recent podcast that he believes the Spurs could be a legitimate option for Chris Paul as an unrestricted free agent this offseason. "There's been a lot of rumblings about Paul, and I think that's real," Lowe said of CP3 potentially joining the Spurs as a free agent. "I think there's mutual interest there. I don't know how real it is given the Clippers can offer a gigantic amount of money and are also a really good team; and the Spurs, like I said, have no sort of cap flexibility to get there. I'm very curious about what they do this summer and who's on the team next year." If Paul wants to chase a ring, his best shot of realizing that goal may be in San Antonio, but he'd have to take a pay cut to make it work.

Marreese Speights    F/C  Clippers

Marreese Speights has officially opted out of his contract with the Clippers. This was expected. It was an easy decision for Speights, as he was set to make just $1.4 million next season. He averaged 8.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 0.5 blocks and 1.3 treys in 15.7 minutes per game in 2016-17. As an unrestricted free agent this summer, he will likely be able to land a deal for around $5 million annually.

J.J. Redick    G  Clippers

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical said that the 76ers appear to be the favorites to sign J.J. Redick. A return to the Clippers seems unlikely, as they won't have much financial flexibility if they re-sign Chris Paul and Blake Griffin to max deals. Redick is seeking $18-$20 million per season according to recent reports, and Philly has more than enough cap space to make that happen. Redick will be 33 in June, but he's coming off another strong season with averages of 15.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.7 steals and 2.6 triples on 44.5 percent shooting. Wojnarowski added that the Nets and Knicks are also interested in the veteran SG.

Blake Griffin    F  Clippers

Clippers coach Doc Rivers said that Blake Griffin (toe) is doing well. "He’s doing well," Rivers said. "The surgery went better than we thought." Griffin had surgery on May 1, but the Clippers still haven't provided a timetable for his return. The Clippers are expected to offer Griffin and Chris Paul max deals this summer, and Griffin could be looking at a deal for five years and $130 million if he wants to remain in Los Angeles. The 28-year-old forward averaged 21.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.6 triples on 49.3 percent shooting in 2016-17, but his durability is a concern -- he's averaging just 54 games played over the past three seasons.

Doc Rivers    C  Clippers

Doc Rivers said the Clippers will prioritize players with some length in free agency. "We need more length and two-way players," Rivers said. "Again, that's easy to say. Little harder to do with the way our contracts are. We may continue to do what we've done or we may decide to change our contracts and have more flexibility." With Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Luc Mbah a Moute, J.J. Redick, Marreese Speights, Raymond Felton and Alan Anderson all hitting the open market this summer, the Clippers could look a lot different in 2017-18. However, if they are able to re-sign CP3 and Griffin to max deals, it's not going to be easy to bring in the quality role players that Doc desires with very little financial flexibility.

Blake Griffin    F  Clippers

Blake Griffin had successful surgery on Monday to repair his plantar plate injury in his right big toe. The Clippers should provide another update in the near future, but there's no report of a timetable yet. The Clippers are going to make it a priority to re-sign both Griffin and and Chris Paul this summer to max deals, so the All-Star forward will likely have to turn down a five-year, $130 million offer he wants to leave Los Angeles.

Marreese Speights    F/C  Clippers

Marreese Speights is expected to decline his player option for 2017-18. It's a no-brainer for Speights, as he's going to opt out of a deal that would only pay him $1.4 million next season. The 29-year-old veteran averaged 8.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.5 blocks and 1.3 triples in 15.7 minutes per game, and he is reportedly looking for a mid-level deal that will start around $8.4 million per season.
