Grizzlies News

Marc Gasol    C  Grizzlies

Gasol posted 22 points (8-19 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists and one block across 36 minutes in Friday's 87-78 loss to the Nuggets. Gasol was about the only offensive bright spot for the Grizzlies on a dreadful night overall, notching his third consecutive double-double in the process. The veteran center has eclipsed the 20-point mark in three of the last six games overall, as he continues to take on additional offensive responsibility with Mike Conley (Achilles) on the shelf. The 32-year-old came into Friday's contest posting his best rebounding average (8.6) since the 2011-12 campaign, and his consistently robust returns in that area are keeping his fantasy stock even higher than usual.

Tyreke Evans    G/F  Grizzlies

Tyreke Evans scored 12 points on 5-of-13 shots in Friday's loss to the Nuggets, adding four assists, three rebounds, two steals and two triples. He scored 20+ points in 10 of his previous 12 games, so credit to Denver's defense for slowing him down. The Grizzlies are shopping Evans' expiring contract and want a first-round pick in return, but Evans brushed off the rumors. "I know it’s a business, I just gotta come and work, do what I do every day. I can’t, that’s not in my hands," he said. "So, whether they trade me or they keep me, I’m coming to work every day, work hard, and just get better."

Mike Conley    PG  Grizzlies

Conley (Achilles) has began participating in 3-on-3 scrimmages with teammates, Michael Wallace of reports. Though he remains without a timetable for a return, Conley's progression is certainly encouraging, though the team is likely to remain as cautious as possible with him considering their place at the bottom of the Western Conference standings. More word on his recovery should emerge as he continues to hit milestones. In the meantime, Tyreke Evans will seemingly continue to carry the bulk of the ballhandling duties for Memphis.

Mike Conley    G  Grizzlies

Mike Conley (left Achilles) went through a 3-on-3 scrimmage after Thursday's practice. Conley has taken part in limited contract drills for at least the past week, but he remains without a clear timetable to return -- he hasn't played since getting hurt on Nov. 13. The Grizzlies are also tied for the worst record in the Western Conference, and they could be sellers at the trade deadline, so there are a lot of moving pieces here. At least he continues to ramp up his activity in practices.

Jan 11 - 5:09 PM

Chandler Parsons    F  Grizzlies

Chandler Parsons doesn't have structural damage in his right knee, but he will not play vs. the Nuggets on Friday. Parsons spoke to the media and said that he's day-to-day, and that the swelling and soreness in his knee has dissipated. We've yet to hear about him taking contact, though, so his return date is still anyone's guess. With strict restrictions even when he's relatively healthy, there's no incentive to hold Parsons in re-draft leagues.

Chandler Parsons    SF  Grizzlies

Parsons (knee) will be sidelined for Friday's contest against the Nuggets, Michael Wallace of reports. Parsons continues to battle knee soreness, which will keep him out for a sixth straight contest. The good news is that there is reportedly no structural damage and the soreness and swelling are down. With Parsons out, James Ennis should continue to see extended run.

JaMychal Green    PF  Grizzlies

Green registered 20 points (7-12 FG, 6-6 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 105-102 win over the Pelicans. Green finished one point and one rebound shy of matching season highs while turning in his third double-double of 2017-18. All three of those double-doubles have taken place in his last 10 tilts, and through 25 appearances Green is managing career-high averages in scoring (10.2), assists (1.3), and steals (0.7) per game.

Brandan Wright    PF  Grizzlies

Wright had eight points (3-5 FG, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, and one block in 10 minutes during Wednesday's 105-102 win over the Pelicans. Wright has seen double-digit minutes in 19 of 24 appearances this season. However, three of those single-digit helpings have come in the last five tilts. With the Grizzlies already falling out of the playoff race, it shouldn't be a surprise if the team opts to give younger big men like Deyonta Davis and Jarrell Martin a few extra minutes here and there. In other words, Wright should only be relied on to provide modest production in the very deepest leagues.

Fantasy Alarm

Jan 11 - 4:59 AM

Wayne Selden    G  Grizzlies

Wayne Selden came off the bench on Wednesday for two points on 1-of-3 shooting, with no other stats in eight minutes. Selden was initially listed in the starting lineup, but it was Andrew Harrison (shoulder) who reclaimed that spot after missing one game. Selden is a fantasy non-entity no matter where he begins games.

Jan 11 - 1:05 AM

Andrew Harrison    G  Grizzlies

Andrew Harrison (shoulder) returned to action on Wednesday with 11 points (3-of-11 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes. Harrison jumped back into the starting lineup, sending Wayne Selden back to the bench, and this was better than fantasy owners could have expected. In 22 starts this season, the second-year guard is averaging 8.0 points on 37.5% shooting, 2.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 0.8 blocks. Leave him on the wire outside of very deep leagues.
