Edrice Adebayo    F  Heat

Pat Riley said Bam Adebayo is "an above the rim player for real while other guys try to play above the rim." The Heat were gushing over the No. 14 pick at his press conference and Riley even compared him to former six-time All Star Shawn Kemp and said his jersey will one day be in the rafters. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said he's excited about the defensive versatility he brings and added that he was "stunned" how well "a young man this large and athletic and explosive that can move his feet and be that light on the ground." Bam is more of a traditional big man, but he is working on his shooting and should be in the mix for minutes right away with Willie Reed entering free agency.

Edrice Adebayo    F  Heat

The Heat selected Edrice "Bam" Adebayo with the 14th pick in the draft. Bam lives up to his name with some eye-popping physical tools, boasting a 7’3" wingspan to go with his 39-inch max vert. Adebayo didn’t light up the box score too much under coach John Calipari, averaging 13.0 points, 8.0 boards, 1.5 blocks and 0.7 steals in 30.1 minutes per game. He also really doesn’t have a jumper right now, making just 31.1 percent of his jumpers on the year. The Heat are expected to lose Willie Reed in free agency, so Adebayo can be brought along slowly as Hassan Whiteside's backup.

Willie Reed    F/C  Heat

The Heat are reportedly "unsure" whether they'll be able to retain free agent C Willie Reed this summer. Reed declined his $1.6 million player option and it was an easy choice, but the market will dictate whether Miami can afford his new salary. They reportedly scheduled "at least five pre-draft workouts [for] centers," none of whom are projected lottery picks -- the Heat would most likely trade down or buy second-round picks to bolster their center rotation. Miami's moves on draft day could telegraph how confident they are about keeping Reed as Hassan Whiteside's backup.

Rodney McGruder    G/F  Heat

Rodney McGruder is working on his shooting mechanics this summer in order to become a "consistent knock-down shooter" next season. McGruder has been spending a lot of time with Heat shooting coach Rob Fodor, and he's also working with Miami sharpshooter Wayne Ellington to work out the kinks in his jump shot. McGruder wound up starting 65 games for the Heat last season when the team became decimated by injuries, but he'll likely slot into a reserve role next season, assuming the main guys are able to stay healthy.

James Johnson    F  Heat

James Johnson said he would like to re-sign with the Heat this summer but was non-committal when asked if he would give the Heat a hometown discount. Dion Waiters recently said he would give the Heat a hometown discount, but Johnson is 30 years old and this will be his first massive contract -- he made $4 million in 2016-17. With averages of 12.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.1 blocks, 1.0 steals and 1.1 triples on 47.9 percent shooting, Johnson played multiple positions for the Heat last season and was arguably the waiver wire pickup of the year. His dynasty owners will be hoping that he stays in Miami, and considering that the Heat are projected to have $38 million in cap space, that seems likely.

Hassan Whiteside    C  Heat

Hassan Whiteside said he will work on adding some range to his game this offseason. "I might shoot a three every once and while," Whiteside said. "I don't really want to be like a big-time perimeter guy. I just want to shoot enough to where you've actually got to guard it. Even threes, I can shoot threes. But I don't want to be one of those centers that shoot five or six threes and then you're not even dominating in the paint anymore." If Whiteside could offer fantasy owners a few triples here and there, that would be a nice bonus, but he'll be an early-round stud either way.

Dion Waiters    G  Heat

Dion Waiters said he's willing to take a discount in order to stay with the Heat. "It depends," Waiters said Sunday. "Yeah, I would, though. But, like I said, it depends, just being the right thing, at the right time. It’s just got to be right. It’s got to be equal." Waiters made $2.9 million in 2016-17 and recently turned down his player option for $3 million, and he's widely expected to command a deal in the $15 million per season range this summer. Waiters was in the best shape of his life this season and averaged 15.8 points, 4.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 1.8 triples on 42.4 percent shooting, and with the Heat expected to have $38 million in cap space, it seems likely that he will remain in Miami.

Chris Bosh    F/C  Heat

Chris Bosh is still considering a return to the court in the future if he can get medical clearance. Bosh is under contract with the Heat for $52 million over the next two seasons, but a ruling by the NBA and players' union determined that they can remove his salary from the books after a panel of doctors ruled that he’s medically unfit to play. He will still get paid by the Heat following his release, though his insurance will cover most of it. Bosh is hoping to find a treatment plan that would allow him to return to the floor in the future, but getting full clearance from a team's medical staff will be very tricky. Sadly, his NBA career is more than likely over.
