Jazz News

Rodney Hood    G/F  Jazz

Rodney Hood (knee) will not play vs. the Warriors on Monday. His knee has been an issue all season, and it's telling that he's sitting out a potentially crucial game to determine playoff seeding. Joe Ingles, Joe Johnson and Alec Burks all stand to gain with Hood on the sidelines.

George Hill    G  Jazz

George Hill (strained right groin) is questionable to play vs. the Warriors on Monday. Gordon Hayward (bruised quad) is also questionable, and Utah's offense will be running on fumes if neither of them can suit up for a potentially critical game -- they're in a virtual tie with L.A. for the No. 4 seed. If Hill can't suit up, expect to see plenty of Dante Exum and Shelvin Mack.

Gordon Hayward    G/F  Jazz

Gordon Hayward (bruised left quad) is questionable to play vs. the Warriors on Monday. The good news is that it sounds like Hayward avoided any serious injury. Even if he sits out Monday, he could return vs. the Spurs on Wednesday. Utah is battling the Clippers for home-court advantage in the first round, which gives them clear incentive to deploy Hayward, so owners should check for updates after shootaround.

Gordon Hayward    G/F  Jazz

Gordon Hayward suffered a left quadriceps contusion on Saturday vs. the Blazers and will be re-evaluated on Sunday. He took a knee to his left quad back on Mar. 25 and ended up missing one game, so it sounds like this is a similar injury. Hayward was able to stay in the game, but he did have a noticeable limp. The Jazz are fighting for the No. 4 seed in the final two games of the season, so Hayward will do everything he can to play on Monday vs. the Warriors. If he misses time, Joe Ingles and Rodney Hood will be the big winners.

Gordon Hayward    G/F  Jazz

Gordon Hayward scored 21 points with five rebounds, four assists and one 3-pointer during a 101-86 loss to the Blazers on Saturday. He did take some contact to his left leg in the second half and did have a slight limp. Hayward stayed in the game and looked totally fine after a few minutes, but he did check out earlier than some others when it was close to garbage time. This is also to the same leg that cost him time earlier this month, so just keep an eye on it even though it's minor. For the Jazz, this loss knocks them down to the No. 5 spot due to not having the tiebreaker with the Clippers.

Derrick Favors    F/C  Jazz

Derrick Favors scored six points with three rebounds and one turnover in 14 minutes against the Blazers on Saturday. If there is one positive from tonight, it's Favors had some life in his legs on a back-to-back set. The Jazz will probably start giving him more responsibility on offense in the near future and will want him to get in a rhythm soon, so he may trend up in the final two games. Although, he may sit out on Monday.
