De'Aaron Fox    G  Kings

General manager Vlade Divac called De'Aaron Fox "a true point guard." The Kings are pumped about landing Fox at five and even said they had him No. 1 on their board -- everyone says that. Still, Fox is one of the fastest prospects to come out this decade and his quick hands should help him be a pesky defender to earn some steals. He did most of his scoring in the paint at Kentucky, so Fox is almost certainly going to struggle as a scorer at the next level. He's still a top-five fantasy pick among rookies, but Fox is more of a late-round pick for a patient owner.

Arron Afflalo    G/F  Kings

The Kings are releasing Arron Afflalo. The Kings added some really nice perimeter depth on Thursday with De'Aaron Fox, Justin Jackson and Frank Mason. Plus, they could also be adding Bogdan Bogdanovic for next year, so they may have several new pieces to their backcourt compared to the start of the 2016-17 season. As for Afflalo, he is still 31 and he may be looking to join a contender next year.

Bogdan Bogdanovic    G  Kings

General manager Vlade Divac said the team is still waiting to hear from Bogdan Bogdanovic on his status for next season. The Kings drafted a little of everything in the draft, so it's tough to get a read on Bogdanovic's based on that. Some of the Kings broadcasters sound fairly confident the shooting guard will be in Sacramento, and there was a report earlier this month that Bogdan himself is coming over. We'll probably get a clearer picture early next month.

Frank Mason    G  Kings

With the No. 34 pick in the draft, the Kings took Kansas PG Frank Mason. Sacramento cleaned up in the first round and they kept rolling with the 5'11" Mason, who played four years in college. He averaged 20.9 points, 5.2 dimes, 4.2 boards, 1.3 steals and 2.3 treys in his final NCAA campaign, and at worst he gives Sacramento some backcourt insurance. He looked outstanding at the NBA Draft Combine, highlighted by his 41-inch vertical, and will be someone to watch during Summer League.

Giles was selected by the Kings with the 20th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, which they acquired along with the 15th pick from Portland in exchange for the 10th pick.

Harry Giles    F  Kings

The Kings selected Duke F/C Harry Giles with the No. 20 pick. In his early teen years, Giles was widely considered one of the best prospects in America, but an ACL tear in his left knee at U16 in 2013 set him back slightly. Worse yet, Giles tore his ACL in his right knee during his senior year at high school, and also needed yet another procedure to his right knee in late 2016. If not for the injury woes, Giles would have been long gone in the draft, standing 6’11" with a 7’3" wingspan. He’s said he feels 100 percent and is pain free, so he may be out there for summer league. The Kings won't be competitive for a while, so Giles is a great value at No. 20 and will likely be brought along slowly. Expect him to provide some relief off the bench for Skal Labissiere and Willie Cauley-Stein.

Justin Jackson    F  Kings

The Sacramento Kings have selected Justin Jackson with the 15th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. The Kings initially held the fifth and tenth picks in Thursday's selection process, but Sacramento turned the 10th pick into No. 15 and No. 20 in a trade with Portland. The reigning ACC Player of the Year led the Tar Heels to the NCAA title over Gonzaga, averaging a team-high 18.3 points while chipping in 4.7 boards, 2.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.6 treys. Jackson did spend three years at Chapel Hill, and that is part of the reason he didn’t go in the lottery, though he was the first post-lotto pick. Jackson really turned the corner as a shooter during his junior season, turning in 1.15 points per possession on catch-and-shoot opportunities. Expect him to have an opportunity to contribute in his rookie season with the Kings.

Vlade Divac    C  Kings

The Kings are trading No. 10 to the Blazers for the 15th and 20th picks in the draft. The Kings have a lot of holes, so it makes sense for them to trade back here and hope to land a couple rotation pieces. The Blazers also had three firsts, so trading up makes a ton of sense.

De'Aaron Fox    G  Kings

The Kings have selected Kentucky PG De'Aaron Fox with the No. 5 pick. The Kentucky guard gets some comparisons to fellow Wildcat John Wall for his quickness, transition game, and play-making skills. Fox does have some concerns regarding his jumper, but he thrived around the basket with 48.1 percent of his shots within three feet, making an impressive 64.2 percent of those. The 19-year-old guard also impressed during interviews with superb recollection of plays and a very media-friendly personality. His 39-point explosion against Lonzo Ball also tops his resume, so he likes the big stage. The Kings don't have any PGs under contract for next season and their interest in Fox was widely known before the draft, so he has a really good chance to be the starter on opening night.
