Dwight Buycks    G  Mavericks

The Mavs and Dwight Buycks have reportedly agreed to a summer league deal. Buycks will try to prove his worth during summer league in order to get a training camp deal, but there are no guarantees he'll wind up on Dallas regular-season roster.

Dirk Nowitzki    F/C  Mavericks

The Mavericks have officially declined Dirk Nowitzki's team option for next season and will begin negotiating a new deal. There's no reason for Dallas fans to panic, as this was a mutual decision to give the Mavericks more financial flexibility this summer. Nowitzki was originally going to be on the books for $25 million in 2017-18, but now one of the options being discussed is a new two-year contract. The Mavericks made it clear that their priority this summer was to re-sign Nerlens Noel and develop their young talent, but their ability to make a splash in free agency hinges on how much of a discount Nowitzki is willing to take.

Jonathan Motley    C  Mavericks

The Mavericks have agreed to sign Jonathan Motley to a two-way contract. An undrafted center out of Baylor, Motley had a strong junior season with averages of 17.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 blocks. He was projected to be a late-first-round or second-round draft pick, but he was medically red-flagged by several teams with a concerning knee issue -- he tore his MCL against South Carolina. The Mavericks are rebuilding, so Motley will be brought along slowly in the G-League and is an intriguing project for the future.

Seth Curry    G  Mavericks

Seth Curry said he still wants to play both guard positions now that Dallas has Dennis Smith Jr. He said DSJ can also score off the ball and added he'll do whatever coach Rick Carlisle wants him to do. Late in last season, the Mavs opted to give Curry a longer look at point guard and he did have some success in that role before his shoulder injury Although, his best stretch last year was as a shooting guard in February, averaging 16.7 points, 2.9 boards, 3.6 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.4 treys on a tidy 66.1 true shooting percentage in those 11 games. Curry could be a sixth man for the Mavs, but he could still have value with minutes in the mid 20s.

DeAndre Liggins    G  Mavericks

The Mavericks are not expected to pick up DeAndre Liggins' option for next season. The Mavericks claimed Liggins off waivers during the final week of the season and were expected to take a "long look" at him this summer, but they are now prepared to move in another direction. The 29-year-old defensive specialist has career averages of 2.1 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.6 steals.

Harrison Barnes    F  Mavericks

ESPN's Marc Stein said that the Mavericks are focused on "cementing and developing its young core." Stein adds that this includes Harrison Barnes, Nerlens Noel, Dennis Smith Jr. and Seth Curry. The Mavericks were originally expected to be major players in free agency and were heavily linked to Jrue Holiday, but now their offseason priority is to re-sign Noel as a restricted free agent and develop their young talent. As for Barnes, expect him to reprise his role as a go-to option on offense for the Mavericks in 2017-18, making him a safe pick in the middle rounds.

Nerlens Noel    F/C  Mavericks

According to ESPN's Marc Stein, re-signing Nerlens Noel is Dallas' offseason priority. This has been reported several teams this offseason and it helps Noel's case to stay in Dallas with the Mavericks selecting PG Dennis Smith Jr. at No. 9. The Mavericks monitored Noel's minutes during his short time in Dallas and he was a mild disappointment, but assuming his knee is 100 percent, his role should grow in 2017-18. Dallas could offer him a five-year max deal worth roughly $146 million, or they could match an opposing max offer sheet of four years at $108 million.
