Seth Curry    G  Mavericks

Seth Curry said that Rick Carlisle putting him on the floor for big minutes in meaningful games helped his confidence during his first year in Dallas. "We obviously had a lot of injuries early on this season, so some of the young guys got an opportunity to play big minutes," said Curry. "A lot of time the young guys come in and play minutes, but it’s not really meaningful basketball. We had a lot of meaningful minutes to play trying to win games, and it helped me out to get my confidence going, playing every night and trying to play well." Curry put in career-highs across the board during his first year with the Mavs, and he'll make for a fine mid-round pick in next year's drafts.

Harrison Barnes    F  Mavericks

Harrison Barnes said it was "great" to be able to prove he could be a consistent scoring threat for the Mavs this past season. "I can be consistent. That was the big knock on me when I first got here," said Barnes. "You know, I could be good for a night or maybe a couple of games, but over the course of 10-30 games that would be difficult. To finally be able to do that over the course of a season was great." Barnes scored a career-high 19.2 points per game during his first year in Dallas to go with averages of 5.0 boards, 1.5 dimes and 1.0 3-pointer per contest, which was good enough for seventh round value in standard 9-cat leagues. He'll make for a solid mid-round pick in next year's drafts.

Nerlens Noel    F/C  Mavericks

Mark Cuban hinted that Nerlens Noel will re-sign with Dallas this summer. "I'm not allowed to talk about [negotiations] but all I can tell you is he's one of a bunch of guys who came in, they all got together and said 'Let's go down to the practice facility and start working out together,'" Cuban said of the restricted free agent. "So they're down there now and so that's exciting to see, and he's part of that group." Noel averaged 8.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.1 blocks and 1.0 steals in 22.0 minutes per game during his time in Dallas, but his knee wasn't 100 percent and the Mavs limited his minutes while they tanked down the stretch. An elite source of rebounds, blocks, steals and FG percentage, the 23-year-old center will be poised for a career year if he can stay healthy.

Mark Cuban    C  Mavericks

Owner Mark Cuban said the Mavs were tanking at the end of this season. "The Mavs, once we were eliminated from the playoffs, we did everything possible to lose games," Cuban said. He talked about playing Dorian Finney-Smith and Yogi Ferrell late in the year, among others. The Mavs finished up with the No. 9 spot in the draft and will likely be looking for a point guard.

Nicolas Brussino    F  Mavericks

Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said that Nicolas Brussino’s development as a playmaker could be vital for Dallas in 2017-18. "He really knows how to play, and we wanted to get him a stretch of minutes in real NBA games playing the point," Carlisle said of Brussino's play late in the season. "We’ve seen his ball skills, and we’ve seen his ability to read defenses." The 6'8" point forward was buried on the bench for most of the 2016-17 campaign, but took advantage of some increased minutes in the final seven games with averages of 9.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists. Brussino is still learning English and was slow to adapt to the NBA, but he's on the right path and the Mavs have been talking him up for the past couple months. He's someone to monitor during the offseason and it sounds like he could earn a significant role in 2017-18.

Nerlens Noel    F/C  Mavericks

Dallas beat reporter Eddie Sefko said the Mavericks have "little concern" that Nerlens Noel will end up elsewhere. Noel only averaged 8.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.1 blocks and 1.0 steals in 22.0 minutes per game as a Maverick, but he shot 57.5 percent from the field and 70.8 percent from the line. The Mavericks limited Noel's minutes because he was battling soreness in his surgically-repaired knee for most of the season and Dallas didn't have much to play for down the stretch, so it's safe to expect a lot more out of Noel in 2017-18 if the restricted free agent remains in Dallas.

Salah Mejri    C  Mavericks

Salah Mejri said he will work with Dirk Nowtizki's famed shooting coach, Holger Geschwinder this offseason. "I have a clear role here: blocking shots, running, energy," said Mejri. "It's not about shooting because we have two players who can shoot the ball. When I played in Europe I was shooting a lot. But to be a more successful shooter, I have to work on it with one of the best coaches who made Dirk a legend." Mejri will be traveling to Germany, but he was non-committal on whether or not he'd be able to suit up for the AfroBasket tournament this summer, saying his surgically repaired knee might not be able to handle playing 35-40 minutes a night.

Dwight Powell    F/C  Mavericks

The Mavericks were encouraged by Dwight Powell's strong finish to the 2016-17 season. Dallas envisioned Powell making major progress when they signed him to a four-year, $37 million contract last summer. Powell was solid for most of the season, posting career-highs across the board (6.7 points and 4.0 rebounds in 17.3 minutes), but saved his best for last. Over Dallas' final four games, he averaged 13.8 points and 4.8 rebounds in 28.3 minutes. Powell plans to focus on improving his long-range shooting this summer. "I thought Powell continues to really do well with his three-point shooting, which is a really encouraging sign," coach Rick Carlisle said following the season.

J.J. Barea    G  Mavericks

J.J. Barea said he was happy to finish the regular season healthy. Barea played in just 35 games in 2016-17 due to a nagging calf injury. "Personally, it was tough. I’ve never went through what I went through this year," Barea said. "But I was able to finish healthy. I’m going to be able to have a good summer, and I’m going to really work more on my body than basketball." The Mavs have a crowded backcourt, but Barea should be able to carve out a consistent role in 2017-18 if he can stay healthy.
