Nikola Jokic    F/C  Nuggets

Nikola Jokic (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday against the Pacers. He continues to get ruled out a day in advance, so Jokic is likely looking at at least two more games out. On Friday, he did go through a "moderate" post-shootaround workout on Friday for about 15 minutes, according to the team. However, Jokic said he can't jump off his left leg yet. Kenneth Faried seems to be benefiting the most while Mason Plumlee could also be worth a look as a Sunday option.

Nikola Jokic    C  Nuggets

Jokic (ankle) will not play during Sunday's matchup against the Pacers, Gina Mizell of the Denver Post reports. Jokic will miss his fifth straight contest Saturday as he continues to recover from a sprained left ankle. Despite optimism that Jokic will return sometime during the six-game road trip, which ends Wednesday against the Celtics, there's been little indication he's close to seeing the floor, as he's often been ruled out for contests a full day in advance. Following Sunday's game, he should be considered day-to-day, with more updates on his status likely emerging as he ramps up his activity. In the meantime, Mason Plumlee and Kenneth Faried will probably continue seeing the bulk of the minutes at center.

Will Barton    SF  Nuggets

Barton scored 19 points (8-16 FG, 1-4 3PT, 2-3 FT) to go along with six rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks in 43 minutes during Friday's 103-89 win against Orlando. As a part-time starter, Barton is averaging 19.5 points in six starts this season. The Denver guard scored 19 points in a season-high 43 minutes on Friday. In his last five games, two of which were starts, he is averaging 18.3 points. Barton's team-leading 15.9 points per game is also a career-best pace for the guard.

Will Barton    G/F  Nuggets

Will Barton scored 19 points on 8-of-16 shots in Friday's win over the Magic. Barton was the only starter who played more than 26 minutes, logging 43 on the night and playing all but 14 seconds in the second half. Coach Mike Malone said after the game that Barton is probably the only player on the Nuggets that can play 48 minutes, so that's music to Barton's fantasy owners ears with the team banged up. He racked up six rebounds, five assists, four steals, two blocks and one 3-pointer and remains a must-start player in all fantasy formats.

Dec 08 - 10:48 PM

Malik Beasley    G  Nuggets

Malik Beasley scored a season-high 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting against the Magic on Friday. The second-year SG also played a season-high 29 minutes, adding four rebounds with three assists and two triples. Gary Harris had a pair of fouls early and was scoreless at halftime, so coach Mike Malone turned to Beasley and said after the game that he was "phenomenal." This was his second straight game with decent run after getting 17 minutes on Wednesday, and the Nuggets going smaller has certainly helped him. Just keep an eye on him in deeper leagues in case his role continues to grow.

Dec 08 - 10:40 PM

Emmanuel Mudiay    G  Nuggets

Emmanuel Mudiay scored 18 points (8-of-16 FGs) with five assists, five rebounds, two steals, two triples and two turnovers in 31 minutes in a 103-89 win over the Magic on Friday. The Nuggets got off to an awful start in the first quarter, but Mudiay gave this team a lift and drew praise from his head coach. "[Mudiay] calmed us down and got us into our offense and made really good basketball plays," Malone said. Jamal Murray didn't have the hot hand and left the game for good after 17 minutes with a tweaked right ankle, so Mudiay took full advantage. This was his second strong game in a row after scoring 17 points with three dimes on Wednesday, so keep him on your watch list in case Murray can't play on Sunday vs. Indiana.

Dec 08 - 10:31 PM

Kenneth Faried    F/C  Nuggets

Kenneth Faried scored a season-high 20 points in Friday's 103-89 win over the Magic, adding 10 rebounds, one steal and two blocks in 30 minutes. Faried moved to the bench in favor of Mason Plumlee (six points in 18 minutes), but coach Mike Malone turned the Manimal loose early and he delivered, hitting 8-of-10 shots and 4-of-5 free throws. His role is pretty volatile with Malone playing the matchups, and he's now played exclusively at center in two straight games. With Nikola Jokic (ankle) nearing a return, Faried is better viewed as a short-term solution if you need boards and a trickle of defensive stats.

Dec 08 - 10:24 PM

Mason Plumlee    C  Nuggets

Mason Plumlee didn't play much in the starting lineup on Friday vs. Orlando, scoring six points with four rebounds, two assists and three blocks in 18 minutes. Plumlee didn't necessarily do anything wrong, but coach Mike Malone went to his second unit early and often and Kenneth Faried had one of his best games of the season. Plumlee's window to produce is closing with Nikola Jokic (ankle) possibly returning as soon as Sunday's game vs. the Pacers, so don't hold onto him too tightly.

Dec 08 - 10:14 PM

Jamal Murray    G  Nuggets

Jamal Murray tweaked his right ankle on Friday against the Magic, playing just 17 minutes with two points, three assists, one rebound and zero turnovers. Murray was "available" to return to the game, but Emmanuel Mudiay gave them a spark off the bench tonight with 18 points and five dimes. We'll put Murray on the injury report to be safe, but for now we'll consider him probable for Sunday's matchup vs. the Pacers. Murray has been inconsistent, but was averaging 21.7 points, 2.7 assists, 1.6 steals and 3.3 treys in his previous three.

Dec 08 - 10:02 PM

Kenneth Faried    PF  Nuggets

Faried scored 20 points (8-10 FG, 4-5 FT) to go with 10 rebounds, one steal and two blocks during 29 minutes in Friday's 103-89 win over Orlando. Faried scored a season-high 20 points and collected 10 rebounds en route to his third double-double in his last five games. What makes Friday's feat most impressive is that he was returned to the bench after starting the last seven games. Shooting efficiency has proven key to Faried's recent run, shooting 68.1 percent in his last five games. Averaging 8.8 shots during this stretch, Faried has taken more chances on offense than his season average of 4.9 field goal attempts suggests. As a result, he is averaging 13.2 points to go along with 9.6 rebounds over this time.
