Pacers News

Alex Poythress    F  Pacers

The Pacers have signed Alex Poythress to a two-way contract. Poythress will provide another big body at training camp, but he'll spend a majority of the 2017-18 season playing for Indiana's G-League affiliate. There's no fantasy value here.

Myles Turner    F/C  Pacers

The Pacers exercised their team option for Myles Turner for the 2018-19 season. This was a mere formality, as Turner is developing into a superstar and the new face of the franchise in Indiana. Next summer, the Pacers will be eligible to sign Turner to an extension worth approximately $156.6 million over five years. He was already a fantasy force last season, but now with Paul George now in OKC, expect Turner to enter the upper echelon of fantasy stardom in 2017-18.

Ben Moore    F  Pacers

Ben Moore signed a training camp deal with the Pacers. An undrafted senior out of SMU, Moore averaged 11.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks last season. According to the Pacers, he's not expected to make the 15-man roster and will play with their G-League affiliate, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Myles Turner    F/C  Pacers

Myles Turner said he expects the Pacers to be in the playoffs next season. "A lot of people look at us as young team that’s going to rebuild, but we’re a young team that’s trying to compete," said Turner. "We’ve got a lot of guys who can come in and make an impact right away. I expect to make the playoffs this year." This is what he's supposed to say, but the reality is that it will be tough for Indiana to compete out East after losing Paul George this offseason. However, the departure of PG-13 should open up a ton of opportunity for Turner, so he should easily be able to flirt with top-20 value next season.

Damien Wilkins    G/F  Pacers

The Indiana Pacers announced they have signed Damien Wilkins. It was reported back in late July that Indy was going to ink Wilkins to a non-guaranteed, one-year deal and it became official on Tuesday. Wilkins, who is 37, hasn't played in an NBA game since April of 2013. Even if he does end up making the 15-man roster, it is unlikely he cracks the Pacers rotation. Thus, Wilkins can be ignored in all fantasy formats.

Moore signed an undisclosed contract with the Pacers on Tuesday. He "will be designated as an affiliate player and play with the Pacers' Gatorade League affiliate, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants".

Myles Turner    F/C  Pacers

Myles Turner said that he wants to be an All-Star next season and expects the Pacers to make the playoffs. Amazingly, Turner, who is just 21 years old, is the longest tenured player on the Pacers. Despite having only two years of experience under his belt, Turner feels he is ready to take on a leadership role. "I want to start establishing myself as a leader in this league and on this team," he said. While the playoffs are a long shot for the Pacers, Turner will likely be a member of plenty of winning fantasy teams next season. He finished in the top-25 overall in standard leagues in 2016-17 and has a chance to return first-round value next year.

Glenn Robinson III    F  Pacers

Glenn Robinson III has made it a priority to improve as a ball handler and playmaker this summer. "One of the biggest things was my ball handling this summer," said Robinson. "Just being able to create for others, you know, help my teammates out a lot. I wasn’t in a lot of pick-and-roll positions in the past couple of years but that’s one of the biggest things that I’ve been working on this summer." Robinson should see some increased opportunity this upcoming season with Paul George no longer on the roster, but he'll likely begin the year coming off the bench behind Bojan Bogdanovic.

Victor Oladipo    G  Pacers

Victor Oladipo was named MVP of the 2017 NBA Africa Game after tallying 28 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four 3-pointers in 38 minutes. Oladipo was aggressive offensively throughout, attempting a game-high 25 field goals, including 14 attempts from 3-point territory. Oladipo is coming off a relatively disappointing season with OKC. However, after being traded to Indiana this summer, he should see a significant spike in his usage rate next season, as he will no longer be sharing the floor with Russell Westbrook.

@_KennethAtl Compared to what Pacers got from OKC they would have been better off trading with Boston.
