Chauncey Billups    G  Pistons

The Hawks interviewed Chauncey Billups this week regarding their Atlanta's vacant GM position. Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical also reports that Atlanta was denied permission to speak with Portland Trail Blazers president of basketball operations Neil Olshey. Billups, a current television studio analyst, had previously said that he would prefer coaching to a front office position but is apparently interested in at least speaking with the Hawks.

Andre Drummond    F/C  Pistons

Andre Drummond said he believes the Pistons must improve their camaraderie and chemistry heading into the 2017-18 season. Despite a disappointing 2016-17 campaign, Drummond does not feel it's necessary to overhaul the Pistons roster. "I don’t think we need to do any changes," Drummond said on Tuesday. "We had a lot of bumps in the road last season with different things going on, and it took everybody out of sync. With this summer coming up, we have to do a better job staying connected — the more stuff we do together, the better our camaraderie will be." Drummond had offseason surgery to correct a deviated septum, which he hopes will increase his energy next season.

Henry Ellenson    F  Pistons

Coach Stan Van Gundy confirmed that Henry Ellenson and Michael Gbinije would definitely play in the Orlando Summer League. This was expected, as both Ellenson and Gbinije saw limited minutes as rookies during the 2016-17 regular season. They will log heavy minutes for the Pistons summer league team, hoping to prove they are ready for an expanded role in 2017-18.

Stanley Johnson    F  Pistons

Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said Stanley Johnson likely won't play in the Orlando Pro Summer League. After a disappointing sophomore season, Johnson said he would be willing to play in the summer league. However, Van Gundy wants him to head down to Orlando with the team, but only practice. "I think what we might do with him is – and he talked it about when he left – go down and practice with us," Van Gundy said. "[Reggie] Bullock did it with us last year. Go down and practice, but not anything else." Johnson needs to improve his shooting and offensive efficiency if he hopes to crack the Pistons rotation and earn increased minutes next season.

Andre Drummond    F/C  Pistons

Andre Drummond, who recently had surgery to correct a deviated septum, may have to wear a mask to protect his nose next season. Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said Drummond may now be more prone to a broken nose a result of the surgery. "The only thing is there’s a little bit of a chance that it makes you more susceptible to breaks, which he knew going, which means he may have to wear a mask, at times," said Van Gundy. Drummond initially suffered the injury in college at UConn and re-aggravated the injury going into his second season. Drummond is hopeful that the corrective surgery will allow him to have increased energy next season and beyond.

Andre Drummond (nose) will be cleared for full basketball activities in a month. He recently had surgery to repair a deviated septum, as he's been breathing through just one nostril for his entire pro career. He said that the issue was at it's worst this season, and while it's probably not an excuse for his down year in 2016-17, it certainly didn't help. "This season was probably my toughest breathing year for me," Drummond said. "It got progressively worse. My allergies were really bad and it was really hard for me to get that wind out there." Drummond said he's eager to get his career back on track and that he plans on "attacking" his offseason workouts and work on his free throw shooting.

Andre Drummond told reporters that he recently had surgery to repair a deviated septum. Drummond said that he has been suffering through the injury since his college days at the Unversity of Connecticut and that he has been "basically breathing through one nostril his entire pro career." He added that he has noticed a real difference since playing after having the surgery. Drummond will be looking to bounce back next season from a relatively disappointing 2016-17 campaign. Unfortunately, the surgery likely won't improve his free throw shooting.

Joe Dumars    G  Pistons

Joe Dumars and David Griffin are expected to emerge as candidates in the Hawks' search for a new lead front-office voice, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. The Hawks announced they were restructuring their front office earlier this week. Mike Budenholzer gave up his title of president of basketball operations but will remain as head coach. Wes Wilcox will no longer serve as general manager. The Hawks are looking to hire a new GM, whom both Budenholzer and Wilcox will report to. Dumars, who previously served as the Pistons GM, played alongside Hawks minority owner Grant Hill in Detroit.
