Luke Kennard    G  Pistons

Coach Stan Van Gundy said that Luke Kennard exceeded expectations during summer league play. Kennard averaged 17.2 points per game in Orlando and knocked down 11 of his 23 3-point attempts. "He’s able to make plays off the dribble, that nice change of pace, and things I hadn’t seen a lot of," said Van Gundy. "He really has a great feel for the game, in addition to clearly his ability to shoot the ball." SVG was also impressed by Kennard's defense. "The thing I didn’t know that he showed me is he has the ability to move his feet defensively." However, to get minutes behind Avery Bradley next season, Kennard will have to beat out Langston Galloway and Reggie Bullock.

Avery Bradley    G  Pistons

Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said team owner Tom Gores is more than willing to wade into luxury tax territory to retain Avery Bradley. "The finances will not inhibit our ability to re-sign Avery at whatever it takes," SVG said. "If we’re in a situation where we want Avery back and Avery wants to be here, we’ll be able to bring him back." Assuming Bradley commands a max deal as a free agent next summer, the Pistons will more than likely have to cross the projected tax line of $123 million to re-sign him. SVG loves his 3-and-D players and Bradley is one of the best in the NBA, so it's hard to imagine the Pistons letting him walk.

Reggie Jackson    G  Pistons

Reggie Jackson said the addition of Avery Bradley will "elevate" his own game. "I expect him to hold me accountable," Jackson said. "Try to get the best out of him and I expect him to try to get the best out of me. Especially being around the same age, it's going to be fun to lead this team and continue to battle and try to get better every day in practice and [in games]." Bradley gives the Pistons another reliable ball handler, so that should take some pressure off R-Jax. He's had the full offseason to get his knee right and is looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2016-17 campaign. If you're targeting Jackson, there's no need to reach for him until the later rounds.

Stanley Johnson    F  Pistons

Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said he plans to play Stanley Johnson more frequently at small forward next season. Johnson is coming off a very disappointing sophomore season in which he averaged 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds in 17.8 minutes per contest, while shooting just 35.3 percent from the field, 29.2 percent from deep and 67.9 percent on free throws. However, with the Pistons trading Marcus Morris, the former lottery pick has a golden opportunity to win the starting small forward job and re-establish himself as part of the Pistons future.

Reggie Jackson    G  Pistons

Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said that Reggie Jackson (knee) is "doing well and feeling good." Jackson missed the first 21 games and the final nine games of the 2016-17 season due to left knee tendinitis. However, it appears offseason rehab has benefited the Pistons point guard. "They put him on a rehab protocol that is longer, a 16-week protocol where they’re slowly getting him ready for the season instead of getting him right back out on the court right away and doing his normal summer work," said Van Gundy. Jackson has a high fantasy ceiling, but the injury concerns and Detroit's depth at guard make him a risky pick in fantasy drafts.

Avery Bradley    G  Pistons

Reggie Jackson said he's expecting Avery Bradley to get even better as a shooter. "I'll be a beneficiary," Jackson said of the improved Bradley shooting. "I get to play a little one-on-one, attack. I don't doubt he loves to shoot. He may not have come in as the most respected shooter but he's worked extremely hard on his game for him to be where he is now after seven seasons." Bradley had a career-high 2.0 treys last year while he had a career high in scoring, rebounds, and assists. If Bradley can avoid an injury, he could put up early-round value.

Luke Kennard    G  Pistons

Luke Kennard would have to beat out both Langston Galloway and Reggie Bullock to get minutes to start the season, according to Pistons beat writer Keith Langlois. While the Pistons did lose Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, the addition of Avery Bradley should absorb basically the same amount of playing time at shooting guard. Kennard had some rough stretches on defense in summer league, so he will have to really thrive in camp to get minutes out of the gate.

Jon Leuer    F  Pistons

Coach Stan Van Gundy envisions Jon Leuer primarily as a power forward, but could join Boban Marjanovic as "a two-headed monster" as the backup center. SVG would use Leuer against a stretch five while Boban guards a traditional center. There's a very good chance Leuer starts and the Pistons push Tobias Harris to the three or even bring him off the bench as a sixth man -- Stanley Johnson could start. While Leuer did fizzle out late in the 2016-17 season, he's still worth a look late in drafts.

Andre Drummond    F/C  Pistons

Andre Drummond said he has lost over 20 pounds since the end of the regular season. Drummond had offseason surgery to repair a deviated septum and says it has already made a world of difference. "I’m breathing better, sleeping better and in way better shape now," said Drummond. "I’m going to be able to go longer. I’m able to breathe clearer. I keep the weight off now." He also says he's looking to extend his range and is "shooting free throws with confidence" and "taking shots with confidence now." It's worth noting that Drummond attempted six 3-pointers during the NBA Africa Game last weekend. He made one.

Boban Marjanovic    C  Pistons

Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy confirmed that he plans to play Boban Marjanovic extended minutes this season. With Aron Baynes now in Boston, Marjanovic is expected to serve as Andre Drummond's primary backup. SVG did say that Jon Leuer will also see some time at center, but that the Pistons will give Boban plenty of playing time. "I don’t want to be in situations where I’m making an immediate response to a team going small and I just reflexively take [Marjanovic] out of the game," Van Gundy said. "That no matter what we’re doing defensively, that we give him a chance." SVG's endorsement is clearly good news for Boban's fantasy prospects.
