P.J. Tucker    G/F  Raptors

The Knicks have shown preliminary interest in free agent P.J. Tucker, according to Ian Begley of ESPN. The Knicks were terrible defensively last season, allowing 108.7 points per 100 possessions and ranking 25th in the league in defensive efficiency. Thus, it makes sense they would target a defensive stalwart such as Tucker. The problem for New York is that they will likely have to overpay Tucker to get him to sign in NYC. Tucker will have plenty of interested suitors and, at age 32, it's probably safe to assume he'd prefer to play for a contender at this stage of his career.

ESPN's Darren Wolfson said that he has heard Minnesota is "very much" on P.J. Tucker's radar. The 32-year-old veteran will be an unrestricted free agent this summer and it will be tough for the Raptors to bring him back to Toronto with Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka also hitting the open market. The Wolves could definitely use some of Tucker's 3-point shooting and defense on the wings, so this report makes sense. He will have a number of suitors this summer, but a move away from Toronto would likely be good news for his fantasy value.

Kyle Lowry    G  Raptors

Kyle Lowry's agency announced on Thursday that Lowry has officially opted out of his contract with the Raptors. No surprise here, as it was widely known that Lowry was going to opt out and hit free agency this summer. Lowry was set to make $12 million in 2017-18 had he not exercised his option. Now, he can re-sign with the Raptors for up to $205 million over five seasons. Other teams can offer approximately $150 million over four years. The Raps would obviously like to keep their All-Star point guard in the fold, but are they willing to max him out?

The 76ers plan to offer Kyle Lowry "a lucrative contract" this summer, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer. There are a lot of ties here for the North Philly native. On top of going to nearby Villanova, general manager Bryan Colangelo was the one who brought Lowry to Toronto back in 2012, and they have remained friends since, as well. The 76ers have said they'd prefer a point guard capable of shooting threes to help spacing for Ben Simmons (foot), so Lowry does fit the bill there. He's coming off career-highs 3.2 treys per game, 41.2 percent from deep and 37.4 minutes per game in his age-31 season. The Raptors see retaining Lowry as a priority and are likely the favorites to have him next year.

Masai Ujiri    C  Raptors

Masai Ujiri stated during his end of season presser that he wants a "culture reset" in Toronto. "We are going to hold everybody accountable because we need to," Ujiri said. "We need, after that performance [the Eastern Conference semifinal series sweep to Cleveland], we need a culture reset here. We need to figure it out. Yes, there’s been some success, but at the end of the day, we are trying to win a championship here." Reading between the lines, this could hint that head coach Dwane Casey is in the hot seat for his unimaginative, iso-heavy, non-3-point shooting offense.

Raptors president Masai Ujiri confirmed that Toronto will make re-signing Kyle Lowry an off-season priority. "It’s our jobs to try and get Kyle to come back and do it the best way that we possibly can. We want him back, he’s been a huge part of the success here," said Ujiri. At this point, the question is whether the Raps are willing to pay him the max, which would sum to approximately $205 million over five seasons. In the final year of that deal, Lowry would be 36 years old and would earn north of $40 million. Serge Ibaka, P.J. Tucker and Patrick Patterson are also free agents. Ujiri admitted keeping all four in Toronto is "unrealistic."

Kyle Lowry will reportedly consider signing with a team in the Western Conference this summer. Lowry, who confirmed on Monday that he will opt out of the final year of his contract, expressed frustration after getting knocked out of the playoffs by LeBron James and the Cavs for a second straight season. However, Lowry should remember that out West the Warriors have a young, dominant core that will likely stick together for the foreseeable future. Prior to a late-season injury, Lowry was putting up phenomenal fantasy numbers in 2016-17. It will be interesting to see where he lands this summer.

DeMar DeRozan    G/F  Raptors

DeMar DeRozan said he believes the Raptors need to add more shooters this offseason in order to improve. Toronto ranked 21st in total 3-point makes during the regular season 2016-17 season. "You look at Kyle Korver and the display he put on. You stretch the floor, space the floor when you have more shooters," said DeRozan. "The more you have, your team becomes deadlier." One possible solution would be DeRozan expanding his range out to the 3-points stripe. He made a total of just 33 treys this season. In comparison, Sixers center Joel Embiid made 36 triples in just 31 games this season.

Dwane Casey will encourage DeMar DeRozan to add the 3-point shot to his arsenal this offseason. "It's no secret that the next evolution of [DeRozan's] game is [three-point shooting]," said Casey. DeRozan scored a career-high 27.3 points per game this past season, but he also shot just 26.6 percent from beyond the arc while contributing a measly 0.4 triples per contest. He's a career 28.1 percent shooting from 3-point range, but if he could make that a relevant aspect of his game, then he could definitely creep his way into the top-30 equation.
