Mike D'Antoni    C  Rockets

Mike D'Antoni, Erik Spoelstra and Gregg Popovich are the finalists for Coach of the Year. D'Antoni's system and James Harden busting out led to the Rockets rising to No. 3 in the Western Conference from not making the playoffs last year. Coach Spo continues to turn trash to treasure with a litany of players turning their careers around as his Heat team just missed the playoffs. Of course, Pop is arguably the best coach of all time.

Lou Williams    G  Rockets

Lou Williams, Eric Gordon and Andre Iguodala are the finalists for Sixth Man of the Year. Williams was almost lapping the field during his Lakers days, but he did lose some ground in Houston with even coach Mike D'Antoni calling him the seventh man. Williams also only made one start all season, averaging 18.6 points per game in his 58 outings as a Laker.

James Harden    G  Rockets

Moses Malone Jr. is suing James Harden for allegedly orchestrating a plan to rob him. According to a report from Fox 26 in Houston, Malone Jr. is alleging that Harden paid a group of people $20,000 in cash to attack and rob Malone at a club last year. Apparently, Malone claims Harden was offended by a Facebook post from Malone that criticized Harden. Harden's attorney denies all charges on behalf of his client.

Clint Capela    F/C  Rockets

Clint Capela said he wants to get stronger and be more consistent next season. "Now, I know that I can handle the role of a starting center," Capela said. "Now, my goal is to be more consistent and to be able to play more minutes and, like I did after this past summer get better, get stronger. Keep working and get better." The Rockets are very high on the 22-year-old center and GM Daryl Morey believes he can become an All-Star. He averaged 12.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.2 blocks in 23.9 minutes per game in 2016-17, but really shined in the playoffs when he averaged 2.5 blocks. He's poised for a big 2017-18, but fantasy owners would like to see him continue to make progress from the free throw line -- he shot 53.1 percent from the line during the regular season.

Nene Hilario    F/C  Rockets

Nene said he will not need surgery to repair his ruptured groin muscle. "It's great. Very positive," Nene said. "We thought I was supposed to have [surgery]. I don't need [surgery]." This is wonderful news for the 34-year-old veteran because surgery would've required four to six months on the shelf. Instead, Nene will rehab for 6-8 weeks and is fully expected to be ready for the start of training camp. Nene was excellent in the postseason with averages of 10.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.7 steals in just 17.9 minutes per game, and he's likely going to get a nice raise this summer after playing for only $2.9 million in 2016-17. He's hopeful to re-sign with the Rockets and the feeling is likely mutual.

Sam Dekker    F  Rockets

Sam Dekker (ankle) was in a walking boot this week. He sprained his ankle at the end of Game 6. Dekker said it was "nothing crazy" after the game, so it shouldn't affect his offseason regiment.

James Harden    G  Rockets

Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni said he may consider giving James Harden more rest during the regular season in 2017-18. Harden played poorly and looked strangely lethargic in the Rockets 39-point home loss to the Spurs in Game 6. He scored just 10 points on 2-of-11 shooting and committed six turnovers. He was also held scoreless and turned the ball over three times in the overtime period of Game 5. D'Antoni acknowledged that fatigue may have played a factor. "Maybe he does need to take a game off here and there. 'Hey, you're nicked up a little bit, don't play,'" said D'Antoni.

Nene Hilario    F/C  Rockets

Nene, a pending free agent, said that "of course" he would like to return to Houston next season. "Of course I'd like to be back. This place was great for me," said Nene. "They brought the younger Nene back. I got young, I got healthy and I got happy. Of course, I want to be back." Nene also said that he will be fully recovered from his torn left adductor in 6-8 weeks. The Rockets paid Nene only $2.9 million last season, and he greatly exceeded expectations. They will likely have to bump up his salary to retain him.

James Harden    G  Rockets

James Harden made just 2-of-11 from the field for 10 points during an embarrassing 114-75 season-ending loss to the Spurs on Thursday, adding three rebounds, seven assists, one steal, one block and six turnovers in 37 minutes. It was a really, really bad first half for Harden, who turned the ball over five times with just two makes from the field and didn't even attempt a field goal in the first half. With Harden's woeful time down the stretch in Game 5 coupled with this dud, one has to think if Harden was either hurting or maybe something wasn't right with him. The Rockets did have an unwritten agreement to play as much as they could during the season to develop their chemistry, and also going with a seven-man rotation in Game 5, so it's fair to say Harden just wore down. Plus, he was passing up open looks a ton during this game. All this said, Harden had an MVP-caliber season and will be in the mix for a top pick in fantasy next year.

May 11 - 10:38 PM

Clint Capela    F/C  Rockets

Clint Capela scored 15 points with 12 rebounds, two steals and one block in 35 minutes against the Spurs during a season-ending loss on Thursday. While this is obviously a crushing blow, the biggest positive here for Houston is they know they have a good one in Clint Capela. Plus, he also showed he could play bigger minutes after averaging just 23.9 per game during the season. He'll likely be in the mix as a top-five shot blocker with close to a double-double average next season.
