Suns News

Troy Daniels    SG  Suns

Daniels scored 18 points (6-13 FG, 6-11 3Pt) while adding a rebound and a steal in 32 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's 118-111 loss to the Trail Blazers. The journeyman has found a rhythm as an instant offense player on the Suns' second unit, draining multiple three-pointers in four straight games and at least one three in 25 straight, dating back to Nov. 26. Unfortunately Daniels doesn't offer any production in other categories, severely limiting his fantasy utility even on the rare nights when he posts lines like this one.

Devin Booker    SG  Suns

Booker scored 43 points (14-29 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 10-10 FT) while adding eight assists, six rebounds, two steals and a block in 41 minutes during Tuesday's 118-111 loss to the Trail Blazers. As happens far too often for the Suns, Booker got almost no help from his teammates as he tried to lead a second-half comeback, and he finished the night with more points than the next three highest-scoring Phoenix players combined. Booker's now averaging 27.3 points, 5.9 assists, 4.4 boards, 3.2 three-pointers and 1.0 steals in 10 games since returning to action from a groin injury after Christmas.

Troy Daniels    G  Suns

Troy Daniels scored 18 points vs. the Blazers on Tuesday, hitting 6-of-13 shots in 32 minutes. He had 11 3-point attempts and connected on six of them, adding one rebound and one steal. Josh Jackson had four fouls which limited him to 23 minutes and T.J. Warren (foot) missed another game, so Daniels stepped up when coach Jay Triano called his name. The Suns only have one more game this week and it's not until Friday, so there's no reason to pick up Daniels in most leagues.

Josh Jackson (groin) scored eight points vs. the Blazers on Tuesday, hitting 4-of-12 shots with two rebounds, two assists and one steal. He had four fouls which limited him to 23 minutes, so he couldn't build off his 21-point game on Sunday. The game is slowing down for the rookie and his outlook for the rest of the season is promising with the Suns focusing on player development, but this isn't a great week to stash him since they only have one more game on the schedule this week.

Devin Booker went off for 43 points in Tuesday's 118-111 loss to the Blazers. That's the third game of his career with 40+ points. He did everything he could to give the Suns a chance with 21 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough as they dropped their third straight game. He finished 14-of-29 from the field and hit all 10 of his free throws with eight assists, six rebounds, two steals, one block and five triples, becoming the first Phoenix Sun to record 43+ points and 8+ assists since Stephon Marbury in 2003. He's quickly becoming one of the top shooting guards in the NBA.

Josh Jackson    F  Suns

Updating a previous report, Josh Jackson (groin) will start Tuesday in Portland. Jackson played well in his previous start sans Warren, scoring a career-high 21 points to go with six boards, three dimes and two triples in 30 minutes of floor time, so he's someone to consider in DFS with what should be a favorable and uptempo matchup with the Trail Blazers.

Josh Jackson (groin) will be available to play Tuesday vs. Portland. T.J. Warren (back) is out, so Jackson should be looking at another start tonight, and he's someone to think about in daily leagues. In his past four appearances, Jackson has produced averages of 16.3 points, 2.0 triples, 7.0 boards, 3.3 dimes and 1.7 turnovers per contest on 41.9% shooting.

T.J. Warren    F  Suns

T.J. Warren (back) will not suit up for Tuesday's game vs. Portland. Josh Jackson (groin) is likely looking at another start tonight, so he could be someone to consider in DFS with a favorable matchup against the Trail Blazers. This will be Warren's second straight game on the sidelines, and for now, we'll be considering him questionable for Friday's game in Denver.

Marquese Chriss    F  Suns

Marquese Chriss (hip) and T.J. Warren (back) will not play Tuesday vs. the Trail Blazers. This will be Chriss' third straight game on the sidelines, and at this point, it's not clear exactly when he'll be back on the court. That said, Chriss was playing so well prior to going down, we'd advise trying to hang on in most leagues. With Chriss and Warren unavailable on Tuesday, Josh Jackson figures to earn another start with Devin Booker doing the heavy lifting on offense. Dragan Bender will also get another start, and he's someone to think about as a streamer.

Josh Jackson    SF  Suns

Jackson (hip) will play and start at small forward in Tuesday's game against the Trail Blazers, Scott Bordow of The Arizona Republic reports. While Jackson was listed as questionable, he'll be called upon to start and likely play a heavy dose of minutes in the absence of T.J. Warren (back). In Sunday's loss to the Pacers, Jackson played 30 minutes and recorded 21 points, six rebounds and three assists in that time. Look for Jackson to play a similar number of minutes Tuesday due to the Suns being light on wing depth with Danuel House (illness) also out.
