Suns News

T.J. Warren    SF  Suns

Warren accounted for 21 points (8-14 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block across 37 minutes in Sunday's 115-110 loss to the Hornets. The fourth-year forward had uncharacteristically taken just five shot attempts and scored four points on Friday versus the Jazz, so Sunday's effort was much more along the lines of his usual production. The 24-year-old has scored at least 20 points in five of the last six contests, and he's shooting over 50.0 percent for the third time in his first four seasons. His razor-sharp work from the field keeps his fantasy value robust across all formats, although it remains to be seen if Josh Jackson's ongoing emergence as an offensive threat progressively eats into Warren's overall usage.

Josh Jackson    SF  Suns

Jackson registered 23 points (10-14 FG, 3-4 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 26 minutes in Sunday's 115-110 loss to the Hornets. Jackson extended his streak of 20-point efforts to four games, a career best. His scoring total Sunday was also a new personal best, and his 71.4 percent success rate was the second highest of his rookie campaign. Head coach Jay Triano appears to have found something with a starting backcourt of Devin Booker and Jackson, so expect the 2017 fourth overall pick to continue seeing plenty of run for the foreseeable future.

Josh Jackson    F  Suns

Josh Jackson scored a career-high 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting on Sunday, hitting three 3-pointers with five rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and five turnovers in 26 minutes. Jackson has now scored at least 20 points in four consecutive games -- the only other rookies to accomplish that in Suns history are Devin Booker, Walter Davis and Alvan Adams. The Suns are already turning him loose and that will only accelerate in the final 28 games. Despite tonight's hot shooting, he's still a more appealing option in points leagues that don't penalize FG percentages (39.5% this season) -- it was just last Sunday that he went 0-of-13 from the field vs. Houston.

Alex Len    C  Suns

Alex Len (ankle) returned to action on Sunday with eight points, five rebounds and one assist in 11 minutes, making 2-of-3 field goals and 4-of-4 free throws. Len has a long history of ankle injuries, so it's possible the Suns will limit his minutes even if he's completely healthy. There's decent rest-of-season potential here, but don't hold him at the expense of another hot free agent -- even teammates like Marquese Chriss, Dragan Bender and Josh Jackson look more appealing at the moment.

Dragan Bender    F  Suns

Dragan Bender started in place of Marquese Chriss on Sunday, hitting 7-of-9 shots with four 3-pointers for 18 points, with five rebounds and one assist. Bender did his damage in 27 minutes but the Suns collapsed in the fourth quarter to lose at home, 115-110. Chriss wasn't with the team on Sunday for disciplinary reasons, but it sounds like a situation that will only last one game. Phoenix has lost 10 of their past 12 games and they're going nowhere fast this season, so Bender should get his opportunities even when Chriss is back in the team's good graces.

Devin Booker    G  Suns

Devin Booker (left hip pointer) won't return to Sunday's game, finishing with 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting, four 3-pointers, nine assists and five rebounds in 31 minutes. Booker took a hard spill contesting a shot from Cody Zeller and we're considering him day-to-day until more details are provided. He was already playing through bruised right ribs so it couldn't have helped that Zeller also kneed him directly in the midsection on the play. If Booker can't go vs. the Lakers on Tuesday, the Suns will rely even more on Tyler Ulis and Troy Daniels, while possibly adding guys like Davon Reed or Josh Gray to the rotation.

Booker won't return to Sunday's game against the Hornets after suffering a left hip pointer, Scott Bordow of The Arizona Republic reports. Booker took a knee to the hip from Cody Zeller. The severity of the injury still remains unclear, but Booker managed to post 18 points, nine assists and five rebounds before exiting after 31 minutes on the court.

Alex Len    C  Suns

Suns interim head coach Jay Triano said Len (ankle) is available and will play Sunday against the Hornets, Scott Bordow of The Arizona Republic reports. Len has been sidelined for five of the Suns' past six games with the sore right ankle, which had opened up more playing-time opportunities for Greg Monroe before Phoenix bought out the veteran's contract a few days ago. With Monroe out of the picture, Len is now locked in as the clear-cut top backup to Tyson Chandler the rest of the way, and could make for an attractive pickup given the likelihood Chandler won't play major minutes most nights and will be rested semi-regularly in the second half of the season. Look for Len to handle around 20-to-25 minutes in his first game back.
