Suns News

Dragan Bender    PF  Suns

Bender will start at power forward Sunday against the Hornets, Craig Grialou of ArizonaSports.com reports. He'll enter the starting five in place of Marquese Chriss, who isn't with the team after the Suns handed the 20-year-old a one-game suspension for getting in a verbal confrontation with an assistant coach Friday. It's unclear if Chriss will slot back into the starting five for the Suns' following game Tuesday in Los Angeles against the Lakers, but Bender should nonetheless notice a steady bump in playing time for at least one game. Bender was stellar off the bench in Friday's loss to the Jazz, producing 16 points (5-10 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, five assists and one block in 28 minutes.

Alex Len    C  Suns

Alex Len (ankle) is available on Sunday vs. Charlotte. Len's rest-of-season outlook improved with the Suns moving on from Greg Monroe, but his ankle is a concern. He's missed five out of the last six games and may have restrictions, but is worth a look if you need a big since his only competition right now is Tyson Chandler.

Dragan Bender    F  Suns

Dragan Bender will start for Marquese Chriss on Sunday vs. Charlotte. Chriss is suspended for one game because of an argument with an assistant coach, but he'll be back in the lineup on Tuesday vs. the Lakers. Bender is coming off a strong game with 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists, one block and four 3-pointer in 28 minutes against the Jazz on Friday, but that was his first sign of life in weeks.

Marquese Chriss    F  Suns

The Suns said Marquese Chriss isn't suspended, but he won't be at Sunday's game against the Hornets. They're calling it a cooling off period, so for it's basically a suspension with pay. According to an ESPN report, the incident in question came after the Friday game when Chriss argued with an assistant coach. With him out, it'll be a lot of Dragan Bender with more Jared Dudley. If Alex Len is out, get ready for some wild lineup combos.

Marquese Chriss    PF  Suns

Chriss will be suspended one game by the Suns following a verbal confrontation with an assistant coach Friday night, Chris Haynes of ESPN reports. It's unclear exactly what transpired, but this would help to explain why Chriss played only 14 minutes in Friday's blowout loss to the Jazz. The team is yet to officially confirm the suspension, but the expectation is that Chriss will serve a one-game ban Sunday against Charlotte.

Marquese Chriss    F  Suns

The Suns plan to suspend Marquese Chriss for one game stemming from a verbal confrontation with an assistant coach, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes. Well, this could explain why Chriss played just 14 minutes on Friday. Chriss hasn't exactly had the best attitude with the coaches, and coach Jay Triano has called him out before. With Chriss out, that means the Suns would probably start Dragan Bender and put Jared Dudley behind him. As for their backup center if Alex Len can't play, we may get some Alec Peters action.

Tyler Ulis    PG  Suns

Ulis (back) supplied 14 points (6-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt), two assists and one rebound across 20 minutes in Friday's 129-97 loss to the Jazz. Ulis fought through the back issues that had him listed as a game-time decision leading into the contest to post his fourth double-digit scoring effort in the last 10 games. The 22-year-old appears set to remain in a second-unit role for the time being, as head coach Jay Triano seems content to deploy a starting backcourt of Devin Booker and improving rookie Josh Jackson. Ulis is still capable of mustering the occasional double-digit scoring effort while coming off the bench, but his inconsistent production primarily limits his fantasy value to deeper formats.

T.J. Warren    SF  Suns

Warren totaled just four points (2-5 FG), one rebound, one assist and one steal across 25 minutes in Friday's 129-97 loss to the Jazz. The star wing's sudden downturn in involvement on the offensive end was striking, as both his shot attempts and point total set or equaled a season low. Warren has been an impressively steady source of superior shooting percentages and scoring throughout the season, so Friday's unsightly line was a clear outlier. While rookie Josh Jackson's recent emergence as a more consistent offensive presence figures to have some effect on Warren's overall usage, he clearly projects to be much more of a factor than he was against the Jazz. He'll look to bounce back when the Suns tangle with the Hornets on Sunday.

Dragan Bender    PF  Suns

Bender tallied 16 points (5-10 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, five assists and one block across 28 minutes in Friday's 129-97 loss to the Jazz. Bender saw extended run in the blowout defeat, leading to his best scoring total since Jan. 7. The 2016 fourth overall pick has been seeing a solid allotment of playing time throughout the season, but offensive surges like Friday's have been few and far between. Bender is obviously capable of the occasional double-digit scoring effort, but his inconsistency keeps his fantasy value limited to deeper formats for the time being, despite starter Marquese Chriss' own struggles and injury issues.
