Suns News

Marquese Chriss    F  Suns

Marquese Chriss started at center for the Suns on Wednesday, scoring seven points (1-of-7 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs) with 10 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 29 minutes. This game was hard to watch and the Suns lost by 48 points, so there's not a lot to glean. Tyson Chandler (neck) was out tonight and is an obvious trade candidate, and Chriss' owners should just hold tight and hope for the best as the Feb. 8 trade deadline passes. Despite recent trade whispers, it sounds like he'll stay in Phoenix. "I think it’s highly unlikely we move a member of our young core," GM Ryan McDonough said. "We believe in Marquese, we like his talent, we like his potential."

Tyler Ulis    G  Suns

Tyler Ulis (back spasms) will not return on Wednesday. It'll be the Josh Gray show right now and maybe Dragan Bender at the point after that. Yes, the Suns are in trouble here. Gray is a decent deep-league add just for volume.

Tyler Ulis    G  Suns

Tyler Ulis (back spasms) is questionable to return to return on Wednesday. Well, the Suns are running out of point guards with Josh Gray the last one standing. We may even see some Dragan Bender at the point. Gray isn't a terrible add in deep leagues.

Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender will both start against the Spurs on Wednesday.

Tyson Chandler    C  Suns

Tyson Chandler (neck) will not play vs. the Spurs on Wednesday. He has a sore neck, but Chandler not playing on a back-to-back set is hardly a surprise. Chandler is expected to play in back-to-back sets moving forward, and the Suns are reportedly having a tough time trading him. All bets are off on what they'll do without Chandler and Alex Len has looked bad. Maybe we see Dragan Bender and Marquese Chriss start together, and perhaps Alec Peters is behind him.

Tyson Chandler    C  Suns

Tyson Chandler isn't sure whether he'll be playing vs. the Spurs on Wednesday. The Suns are reportedly trying to deal Chandler, and with the deadline looming it makes sense to hold him out. We'll know more closer to tip-off, but if he can't go Alex Len, Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender all stand to earn more minutes.

Devin Booker    G  Suns

Devin Booker (hip, rib) has been ruled out for Wednesday night against the Spurs. He was not expected to play today as he gets over his injuries to his torso. Booker had an interview on the Suns broadcast last night to talk about the injury. He talked about how he's adjusting to this type of injury, how he's taking it day by day, and how he's still hopeful to be in the 3-point contest -- he also said Klay Thompson will finish second. Booker is more day-to-day than anything else, and it'll be Tyler Ulis, Josh Gray and Josh Jackson benefitting the most.

Marquese Chriss    F  Suns

The Suns have not discussed a trade with Marquese Chriss, according to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports Radio. It's important to note here that this reporter was the first on the Greg Monroe buyout news, so we'll side with him on this for now. Additionally, Scott Bordow on the AZ Republic said the "only way" they deal Chriss is for star like say a Kemba Walker. The Suns are expected to try to speed up what has been called as "The Timeline" and maybe dumping Chriss can help that. He may be in a good spot tonight with the Suns on a back-to-back set, but obviously is a risky fantasy play in basically every sense.

Marquese Chriss    F  Suns

The Suns are rumored to be looking at deals involving Marquese Chriss. Chriss has had a rough go in Phoenix this season, but maybe a change of scenery could get him going. The Lakers are said to have expressed interest in Chriss, and that could be a nice spot for him, so he's someone to consider stashing in deep leagues.

Tyson Chandler    C  Suns

The Suns are reportedly looking to trade Tyson Chandler. They want to get rid of Chandler and the $13 million he's owed next season, but it's tough to see a team willing to take on that contract for another year, particularly with Chandler now 35 years old and no longer quite the defensive anchor he once was. The Suns have also said they don't intend to shut Chandler down this season if he remains in Phoenix, which isn't great news for Alex Len's rest-of-season outlook.
