Suns News

Josh Jackson    F  Suns

Josh Jackson posted his second double-double of the season on Tuesday vs. the Lakers, scoring 16 points with 10 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one triple in 36 minutes. The rookie played a career-high 36 minutes with Devin Booker (hip, ribs) on the shelf, hitting 7-of-19 shots and 1-of-2 free throws with three turnovers. He's been one of the most improved players since the new year and has been a tremendous pickup in all formats, averaging 20.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 1.0 steals and 1.6 triples in his last five games. He looks poised for a strong finish to the season and the Suns have every reason to keep feeding him minutes.

Tyson Chandler    C  Suns

Tyson Chandler scored eight points with 13 rebounds and four assists in 30 minutes vs. the Lakers on Tuesday. Now that Greg Monroe is gone, it's going to be interesting to see if Chandler is rested on the second night of a back-to-back set vs. the Spurs Wednesday. Alex Len doesn't look healthy right now, so maybe Chandler plays. He's still a shut-down candidate after the All-Star break, assuming he's not moved at the deadline. Fantasy owners can do better.

Marquese Chriss    F  Suns

Marquese Chriss returned from a one-game suspension on Tuesday and was productive in 19 minutes off the bench, scoring 10 points with six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two triples. He's inconsistent, immature and prone to foul trouble, but he can put up some nice fantasy lines when he's in the mood. Coach Jay Triano called it a matchup-based decision to bring Chriss off the bench tonight, but he was more productive than Dragan Bender was in 38 minutes. If you want to gamble on his upside after the All-Star break and like scary rollercoaster rides, Chriss could be your guy, but he's more of a stash until he strings a few good games together.

T.J. Warren    F  Suns

T.J. Warren scored 24 points in Tuesday's 112-93 loss to the Lakers, hitting 9-of-22 shots and 6-of-10 free throws with six rebounds, three assists and four steals in 36 minutes. Warren did have a scary moment when he slammed his head into the court after his shot was blocked, and while he stayed on the court for about a minute holding his head, he didn't go back to the locker room and was able to finish the game. Concussion symptoms can appear later on, so it's not a complete lock that he's out of the woods. He gets a 3.3 usage rate bump with Devin Booker (hip, ribs) off the floor and will be a strong play once again on Wednesday vs. the Spurs, but double check to make sure he's not on the injury report.

Tyler Ulis    G  Suns

Tyler Ulis started for Devin Booker (hip, ribs) on Tuesday vs. the Lakers, scoring eight points with seven assists, one rebound and three turnovers in 30 minutes. Booker is not expected to play Wednesday against the Spurs, so Ulis should be in line for at least one more start. He was 4-of-11 from the field and missed all three 3-pointers, but backup PG Josh Gray was almost just as productive in half the minutes Ulis saw. Even while Booker is out, Ulis hasn't played well enough to be considered in standard leagues.

Danuel House    F  Suns

Danuel House has been sent down for a G-League stint. Josh Jackson could be forced into heavy minutes tonight with Devin Booker (hip) out and House in the G-League. House belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.

Marquese Chriss    F  Suns

Marquese Chriss will come off the bench for Tuesday's game against the Lakers. Head coach Jay Triano described the move to keep Dragan Bender in the starting five over Chriss as a matchup-based decision, as he needs more shooting on the floor with Devin Booker (hip) out, and wants his bigs to draw Brook Lopez and Julius Randle away from the paint. Chriss was also seen "yucking it up" with Triano at shootaround, so it seems the two sides are on good terms. The bench role isn't great for Chriss' fantasy value, though.

Devin Booker    G  Suns

Devin Booker (hip) is not expected to play Wednesday against the Spurs. Booker did say he was feeling better on Tuesday, but with no practice time ahead of Wednesday's game, it seems unlikely that he'll be able to get out there for the second game of this back-to-back set. With Booker unavailable on Tuesday night, Tyler Ulis will draw the start and there will be more shots for guys like T.J. Warren, Josh Jackson and Dragan Bender.

Dragan Bender    F  Suns

Dragan Bender will remain in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Lakers. Marquese Chriss will be back in action tonight after serving his one-game suspension, but he'll come off the bench, and it'll be interesting to see what his minutes look like. Head coach Jay Triano said that move to keep Bender in the starting five was not punishment for Chriss, but rather for matchup purposes against the Lakers with Devin Booker (hip) out. Bender has played well over the past two games, but his minutes could take a hit with Chriss back in the rotation tonight.

Alex Len    C  Suns

Len (ankle) returned to action in Sunday's 115-110 loss to the Hornets and provided eight points (2-3 FG, 4-4 FT), five rebounds and one assist across 11 minutes. Len had been sidelined for the prior two contests and five of his last six overall. The 24-year-old big man is sitting on a golden opportunity for extended run now that Greg Monroe is out of town, but he'll naturally have to remain healthy enough to capitalize. Factoring in Sunday's efficient outing, Len is averaging 8.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists across 20 minutes in his last five games.
