Ricky Rubio    G  Timberwolves

According to ESPN's Marc Stein, Minnesota "remains intent" on trading Ricky Rubio. Stein adds that the one of the reasons why Rubio could be on the move is the Wolves are looking for more shooting. This report contradicts Wolves GM Scott Layden's comments this week, as Layden said the team was "planning" on keeping Rubio and gushed about his strong finish to the 2016-17 season. With Kris Dunn in Chicago, whoever the Wolves bring back in a deal for Rubio would immediately step into a large role in Minnesota. For now, it doesn't sound like a deal is in the works yet. Rubio has two years and $29 million left on his deal, so the Wolves won't give him away for cheap.

V.J. Beachem    F  Timberwolves

V.J. Beachem will sign a free agent deal with the Wolves. A 6'8" forward out of Notre Dame, Beachem improved rapidly every season and averaged 14.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 1.1 blocks and 2.4 3-pointers on 42.2 percent shooting as a senior. The Wolves are set on the wings with Andrew Wiggins and Jimmy Butler expected to log heavy minutes under coach Tom Thibodeau, so Beachem will have a limited role if he earns a roster spot in Minnesota.

Ricky Rubio    G  Timberwolves

Wolves GM Scott Layden said that the Wolves are planning to keep Ricky Rubio. Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reported prior to the draft that Rubio's name was still being shopped around, but then they traded away Kris Dunn to the Bulls in the Jimmy Butler deal. Layden said the Wolves were excited about Rubio's strong finish to the season and added that he's "going to have a great career here," so it now sounds like he will stick around in Minnesota. His usage rate should drop with Butler around, but Rubio should still be an elite source of assists in 2017-18.

Charles Cooke    G  Timberwolves

Undrafted 6'5" guard Charles Cooke has agreed to a free-agent deal with the Wolves. During his senior year at Dayton, Cooke averaged 15.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.0 blocks, 1.1 steals and 1.7 3-pointers on 45.5 percent shooting. He led Dayton to back-to-back A-10 Championships after transferring from James Madison following his sophomore year, but an underwhelming showing in the 2017 NCAA tournament is one of the reasons he didn't hear his name on draft night. The Wolves could use some backcourt depth, so Cooke will have a chance to earn a roster spot with a strong showing during the Summer League.

Justin Patton    C  Timberwolves

The Timberwolves took center Justin Patton out of Creighton with the No. 16 pick in the NBA Draft, via the Bulls. The Creighton center heads to Minnesota as part of the Jimmy Butler deal and is one of the biggest bodies in the draft, tipping the scales at 226 at 7’0" to go with his 7’3" wingspan. Patton is more of a traditional five man with a whopping 70.3 percent of his shots coming from within three feet, and he also made just 51.7 percent from the line. He was an effective shot blocker at 1.4 per game in just 25.5 minutes, so he could make an impact in fantasy as a FT% punt guy once he establishes his minutes. Of course, playing behind Karl-Anthony Towns is going to make success in fantasy a tough goal for the rookie.

Kris Dunn    G  Timberwolves

The Timberwolves have agreed in principle to a trade that will send Dunn along with Zach LaVine and the team's seventh overall pick to the Bulls for Jimmy Butler and the 16th pick, K.C Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.
