Trail Blazers News

Brandon Rush    G/F  Trail Blazers

Brandon Rush has agreed to a 10-day contract with the Blazers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski‏ of ESPN. Rush has played for four different teams over his nine-year NBA career. He averaged 4.2 points and 2.1 rebounds in 47 games (33 starts) for the Timberwolves last season. He should be left on waivers, as it's unlikely he'll be able to carve out a role in the Blazers rotation.

Jusuf Nurkic    C  Trail Blazers

Jusuf Nurkic hit 7-of-14 shots and 3-of-6 free throws for 17 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and a steal in 30 minutes of Wednesday's win over the Warriors. Nurkic was iffy with a sore lower back, but played very well against the Warriors, and was instrumental in them getting the big win. Nukic is always going to be an injury concern, but the No. 6 Blazers currently sit a half game ahead of the Nuggets and Pelicans, meaning they'll be fighting for their playoff lives going forward. Hopefully that will help Nurk Alert to stay happy and healthy the rest of the way.

Damian Lillard    G  Trail Blazers

Damian Lillard led the Blazers with 44 points, eight assists, three rebounds and two steals in 40 minutes during Wednesday's 123-117 win vs. the Warriors. Lillard sank 14-of-25 field goals and 12-of-12 free throws, with a 4-of-11 mark from downtown. He's been absurdly good lately and has scored 133 points over the past three games, which shatters the Blazers' previous franchise record. He's attempted double-digit free throws in each of those games, and owners should hope he maintains such aggression on the other side of the All-Star break.

Al-Farouq Aminu    F  Trail Blazers

Al-Farouq Aminu finished Wednesday's game with nine points on 3-of-4 shooting, 11 rebounds, three steals and two assists, and he iced the Blazers' victory with a pair of clutch free throws. Aminu was averaging 7.8 points on 31.1% shooting in his previous five games, so it was nice to see him knock down some shots tonight. He still returned roto value in 12-team leagues in that five-game span, however, thanks to 1.6 triples, 9.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.6 steals, 0.4 blocks and a mere 0.6 turnovers. He's nowhere near as appealing in points-based leagues, of course.

Ed Davis    F/C  Trail Blazers

Ed Davis didn't score in 13 minutes of action on Wednesday. The Blazers' big man grabbed four rebounds with one steal and this just wasn't the matchup for him vs. Golden State. Jusuf Nurkic (back, oblique) also played through injury to log 30 minutes tonight, which made it hard for Davis to hit his required 20+ minutes for fantasy value.

Jusuf Nurkic    C  Trail Blazers

Coach Terry Stotts said Jusuf Nurkic (low back soreness, right calf strain and right oblique strain) will "most likely" will play Wednesday vs. the Warriors. He is all sorts of banged up right now, so he may even be limited if he's out there. Nurkic has been fairly durable this year with only a three-game stretch in December resulting in his DNPs this season. If he's limited, we could see more Zach Collins or Ed Davis.

Jusuf Nurkic    C  Trail Blazers

Jusuf Nurkic (low back soreness, right calf strain and right oblique strain) is questionable to play vs. the Warriors on Wednesday. Nurkic has had a few days to rest after leaving Sunday's game, but with three distinct injuries and just one game remaining before the All-Star break, Portland might just hold him out. Doing so would give him another 10 days of rest. Ed Davis should start at center if Nurk can't play, with Zach Collins picking up the reserve minutes.

Blazers coach Terry Stotts said he doesn't have an update yet on Jusuf Nurkic's back. Stotts said he talked with the training staff on Sunday night and they let him know that he's still dealing with some lower back soreness. Portland is off until Wednesday's game vs. the Warriors, but we'll consider him questionable for that contest. If he sits, Ed Davis and Zach Collins would likely hold down the fort at center for the Blazers.
