Warriors News

Stephen Curry    PG  Warriors

Curry (shoulder) mustered 14 points (4-13 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five assists and two rebounds across 30 minutes in Tuesday's 129-99 loss to the Jazz. The perennial All-Star's shot was far from its sharpest Tuesday, leading to Curry's lowest scoring total of the season. It was also the nine-year veteran's second 30.0 percent shooting effort of the last five games, and his unsightly 14.3 percent success rate from distance was also a low-water mark on the campaign. The right shoulder soreness that Curry entered the game with may certainly have played a part in his struggles, and the typically stingy Jazz defense was likely a factor as well. Given his body of work, the atypical stat line can safely be labeled an outlier, one that he'll look to bounce back from against the Kings on Friday night.

Klay Thompson    SG  Warriors

Thompson produced 27 points (12-17 FG, 3-5 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists and two steals across 31 minutes in Tuesday's 129-99 loss to the Jazz. Thompson's effort was the lone bright spot among the Warriors' Big Three, as Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant shot a combined 9-for-26, including 1-for-12 from three-point range. The 27-year-old Thompson's scoring total served as a team high and was a particularly welcome sight following his seven-point, 3-for-12 effort versus the Celtics last Saturday. The seven-year veteran has alternated strong shooting efforts with some rough offensive nights recently, as he's shot 54.5 percent or better on three occasions and under 30.0 percent in two other instances over the last six contests. Factoring in Tuesday's production, he finishes the month with averages of 19.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists across 34.9 minutes over 13 games.

Klay Thompson    G  Warriors

Klay Thompson scored a team-high 27 points in a blowout loss to the Jazz on Tuesday. You could argue that Thompson and JaVale McGee were the only Warriors who showed up tonight. Thompson hit 12-of-17 shots in 31 minutes, adding six rebounds, three assists, two steals and three triples. He's been all over the place lately, but he's still been a top-30 player in 9-category leagues on the season.

JaVale McGee    C  Warriors

JaVale McGee scored a season-high 14 points on 7-of-8 shots vs. the Jazz on Tuesday. Kevon Looney (illness) was out and Jordan Bell (ankle) is still on the shelf, so McGee was the backup center tonight. He played 16 minutes and made the most of them with four rebounds and a pair of blocks. The Warriors are off for a couple days and Looney should be back on Friday vs. the Kings, so McGee isn't a good pickup.

Patrick McCaw    G  Warriors

Patrick McCaw (back) played 12 minutes on Tuesday vs. the Jazz, finishing scoreless with two assists and a steal. He missed a pair of shots and just doesn't offer much upside when the Warriors are playing all their studs. He's just a stash in dynasty formats.

JaVale McGee    C  Warriors

According to head coach Steve Kerr, McGee will see an uptick in minutes Tuesday against the Jazz with both Kevon Looney (illness) and Jordan Bell (ankle) out, Mark Medina of The Mercury News reports. The Warriors head into Utah with a hampered front court, which means McGee should see a serious uptick in minutes after falling out of the rotation over the past two months. McGee and Zaza Pachulia will be tasked with containing Rudy Gobert, who is coming off a 18-point, 15-rebound performance against the Raptors last Friday.

Patrick McCaw    G  Warriors

Patrick McCaw (back) will be available to play Tuesday vs. the Jazz. McCaw has missed two straight games with a mid-back strain but will return to the lineup vs. Utah. McCaw will eat into Nick Young's minutes off the bench.

Kevon Looney (illness) has been ruled out of Tuesday's game vs. Utah.

Stephen Curry    G  Warriors

Stephen Curry (right shoulder soreness) will be available to play Tuesday vs. Utah. This was expected, as coach Kerr admitted that the Warriors plan to list even minor ailments on the injury report in order to be more transparent. Curry has been red-hot of late, averaging 31.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 6.4 treys over his last five games.

Kevon Looney    PF  Warriors

Looney is out for Tuesday's game against Utah due to a stomach issue, Anthony Slater of The Athletic Bay Area reports. It's unclear how serious the issue is and if it will keep him out for more than one game. Regardless, in his absence, Omri Casspi, Patrick McCaw, Andre Iguodala and David West are all candidates to see slight upticks in workload.
